Forums - Nintendo - Would you be ok with certain Switch games only playable while docked?

Would you be down for that?

I don't think I find that acceptable with any game. It would suck if I couldn't take that game on the go.

If not every game works on the portable device then the whole hybrid concept will make no sense imo.

This is my line of thinking, as well.

It would be an issue for some, but I personally woudn't give a damn.

Spliting games in dock and non-dock beats the whole Switch point. I don't see this happening at all. It makes little sense for the concept.

Yes it would. It just wouldn't work for ALL games.

But then wouldn't that make for confusing marketing? Let's face it, this scenario is a road best left not taken.

I'm still wondering if it has to be docked to connect to hdmi. There may be an option where you can hold the tablet to play on the big screen using wireless display between tablet and dock.

Nintendo confirmed that Switch cannot be used when you playing on TV, when you playing on TV Switch needs to be in Dock.

No, and that's totally against whole "Switch" concept where you "can play your game at home or at go".
I am pretty sure all games will be playable on handheld and in console mode.

Its called the Switch.... because sometimes.... you can? No.

That would defeat the purpose of the Switch. No.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I think what I would like is when games had completely diffrent modes in docked and non-docked mode.
Sort of like what they were doing with the 3DS version of DQ 11. The top screen has 3D model graphics and the bottom screen has the same area, top down, with retro graphics.

The thought of having GTA on the big screen and having it turn into Hotline miami on the small one is just so cool to me.

It probably shouldn't work like that on every game, but I would like to see one or two developers try something like it, get around your limitations in a smart and creative way.
