Forums - Nintendo - Could Smash Bros skip the Nintendo Switch?

Mario Kart better just be an enhanced port, it looks identical to MK8. They better not try and sell it as "Mario Kart 9!!!"

Let's face it though, a lot of racing  look practically the same with small enhancements. New characters and racing mechanics is pretty different.

Nah it's definitely Mario Kart 8 with very minor additions. If they try and sell it as a sequel they can fuck off, I certainly won't be buying a switch if that's the case.

I don't think Nintendo will skip putting Smash Bros on the Nintendo Switch.

Smash bros on wii u and 3ds sold like 13 million copies, a new smash bros is like a new day, it's going to happen.

I'm predicting smash will come as a 2.0 version with all DLC, mixed with the stages from the 3ds version and possibly smash run as well. PLUS wolf and ice climbers will be back. but people will have to deal with the fact they can't use gamecube controllers anymore. and when it launches, Bayonetta, Cloud and Corrin amiibos will launch as well.
And each amiibo will be retail exclusive between gamestop, toys r us and best buy.

I think it should. They should just add a very decent adventure mode to the enhancement and I'll be good. If they can make something like Subspace but only more refined, features worlds based off of these characters, and has an okay story, I'd buy it.

I don't think we'll see Smash 5 on switch. It's too early, and they already have a good engine. Sakurai needs to spend more time on making new experiences, that's what I think he wants to do more than anything.

I think they could let the series breath for a gen and it wouldn't hurt anything. Let 4 stretch its legs. There was a lot of time and love poured into that game, any more dlc or modes would be ridiculous. They should focus on other franchises.

What's wrong with it exactly? No one is saying "if Forza whatever looks like the last one I'm done with the series". It's the nature of racing games.

I don't want Sakurai working on a new Smash which is why they should just port 4 to Switch instead.

We've seen from the PS4 and XBox One that there is a large market for ports of last gen games. Nintendo likes money, so I'm sure they'll do the same.

I hope that's not the case, I always enjoy the hype before the release of a new Smash game!
