Considering the hype, how long do you think it will take the NSwitch to outsell the WiiU?
Do you think it can achieve it during its first year?

What hype? I thought that it was pretty normal for people to be excited for a console before its release. Anyways, if the 3DS crowd move to the Switch it could happen.

This is more prediction rather than rumour/speculation/conjecture. Also, let's wait for January before this, we still don't know a lot.
Yes, believe in the Switch!
I personally believe that it will do 10 to 15 million, being it closer to 10.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Pick up your balls and make a real prediction like a man.
I was always convinced that the Switch will sell really well in its first year and can't see it beating the Wii U anytime soon though. 10m first year would already be a big success.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
I hope so, but this is not really a rumour :p

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]
I would say that it will probably outsell the Wii U within two years if it's successful.

This is the 3DS by year (FYE = fiscal year end)
FYE March 2011 - 3.61 million shipped
FYE March 2012 - 13.53 million shipped
FYE March 2013 - 13.95 million shipped
FYE March 2014 - 12.24 million shipped
FYE March 2015 - 8.73 million shipped
FYE March 2016 - 6.79 million shipped
Wii U is what? 14 million?
Probably tough since 3DS' peak year is below 14 million and that's with a $169.99 3DS model.
NS is almost certainly going to be $250 minimum, and it won't get cut to $169.99 overnight like the 3DS did.
I'd say
FYE March 2017 - 2 million Nintendo Switch
FYE March 2018 - 9-10 million Nintendo Switch
Sounds more right to me based on what we know right now and giving Nintendo the benefit of the doubt in a few areas.
