Forums - Nintendo - What Will Nintendo NS Games Cost?

Price of NS games (USD)?

$60 39 60.94%

$40 6 9.38%

...$50? 19 29.69%

Total:64

It functions as both a handheld and a homeconsole. However, as you all know handheld and console prices are pretty different. In the US a new handheld game is $40 and a new console game is $60. Unfortunately, since it is being advertised as a homeconsole I could definitely see it being $60... goodbye $40 games, maybe ;~;

Third parties ain't letting go of their $60 grip or the $60 season pass/DLC.

To be fair, on handhelds they go for $40. Except Atlus games that go for $50 x.x

If Wii U games cost $60, and this system is more powerful than a Wii U, development costs should remain the same or even increase to accommodate the new hardware. A game will never sell below $50 if it's an HD game, as HD game development is costly. 3DS got away with $40 because it is SD Handheld.

So yeah, they'll be $60 for sure.

Between 40 and 60 Euro for most.

Funny that this is the very first time I am seeing this question asked by anyone other than myself :)

You're gonna have both kinds. But for the most part, I predict $60 and up (for reference: prices of games in Europe).

Either 50$ or 60$, say goodbye to the 45$ 3DS games :c

Yeah, I'm wondering if we will see a mix of both. Kind of like how we see with PS4/X1 remasters

I'm thinking $60
If the games for this system ended up only being $40 that would be amazing though!
Can we just compromise at $50?

I'd be cool with $50. It'd give the Switch an edge over the competition
