Titanfall 2 Sales Will Be "Substantially Disappointing," Analyst Says

Titanfall 2 sales are going to be "substantially disappointing" and bad enough to offset how strong Battlefield 1 is expected to be, Cowen & Company said.

Based on its estimates, Titanfall 2 unit sales are expected to be in the 5 million to 6 million range, which is a decrease from Cowen & Company's previous 9 million forecast. Titanfall 2's quality is not the problem, the firm noted (indeed, the game is getting strong reviews), but the timing is tough.

Its a shooty shooty. It will do well.

But 5-6 million copies is awesome sales and already much better than this niche title deserves.

Of course it's gonna suffer under the might of Battlefield 1, the shooter of this generation and a near photorealistic masterpiece.

Too many shooters in a relatively short amount of time, it's inevitable one of them will sell less. But why would anyone think this game can sell 9 million copies to begin with?

Yup, the release window just was not smart at all.... . but the game looks and plays so smooth... this should have been pushed off to the spring. Anywho, Kudos to Respawn, the game is incredible.

Wait... EA releases 2 FPS games Battlefield1 and Titanfall2 at around the same time along side the traditional CoD and Destiny expansions and still expects both games to sell 10million+ each?

5-6million is great. If it's quality, it will have legs. Should make more new IPs that is not FPS for a change.

Of course they are if you expect 5 million. They should be happy with 3m.

Hate to sound like a hater (I'm gonna do so anyway) but I long for the days of the demise of FPS and the return of prominent RPGs.

And on another note, isnt titanfall and BF1 both published by EA?

Who was responsibke for that cock up? Can't imagine why they didnt release BF1 now and then titanfall 2 in March or February 2017.
