Forums - Gaming - If your dream character came to smash...

Who would be the most fit and why?

Personally a character I think is perfect for smash is:

Maito Gai

Explanation:

If you don't(surprisingly) know anything about Naruto, Maito Gai is a highly-ranked ninja from the Leaf Village. Considered to be the greatest in Taijutsu(physical skill) and a wide variety of skills, Gai is capable of being a great character for several reasons:

-Unlike many shonen characters like Goku, he does not have godlike powers.

-his fighting style matches that of many other close combat fighters in Smash Bros.

-A wide variety of unique things he could do

Some concepts:

 attacks:

Neutral a: His neutral a can be a simple punch kick combo.

nair(neutral aerial): Uses his nunchucks for a modest %5 damage.

Down a: Quickly jabs the opponent. Sends them flying the opposite direction they are facing(more damage the farther they go...obviously).

Up a: A simply upwards punch. Very weak, but useful for starting combos

neutral B: N/A

Side B: Uses leaf whirlwind, which is a move that looks similar to meta knight's side b. instead, it's a bunch of very fact kicks from the user.

Down B: Release of 8 gates(explain this down below)

Up B: leaf coiling whirlwind- similar to side b, however it involves the user kicking very quickly with a whirlwind surrounding it. It goes as far as Mario's up+b

grabbing upwards: Gai will use the spinning lotus. Basically, him and user go into the air with Gai grabbing his opponent. He then begins to violently spin until he reaches the ground, creating a lot of damage to the user

grabbing downwards: Gai will throw his opponent to the ground and stomp on them, causing them to go in the opposite direction they were grabbed.

Grabbing left/right: He will power punch his opponent, causing them to fly away.

Special feature: release of 8 gates

Explanation: In the 'Naruto series', every person has 8 "gates" which limit their power to preserve their body. Only a few people can open these gates to gain immense power by doing extreme training(as in one handed rock climbing, several hundred mile jogs, etc). It comes at the cost of harming the user as they open more gates. If they open all eight, they gain unthinkable power, at the cost of burning into ashes afterwords.

How this will work in Smash: Similar to how Cloud has his limit and Little Mac has his KO, Gai would have something similar to it with heavy risks. as he opens more gates, he will gain changes. :

1. 25% damage: he will be able to open to open the third gate. He now has red skin with his nerves bulging out, with a green aura surrounding him. Some changes to his moves:

Grabbing upwards: Gai will now perform the reverse spinning lotus, which does more damage.

Neutral aerial: Gai no longer uses his nunchucks from now on. He simply does an aerial punch, which only does 1% more damage(6% altogether).

Shielding: If Gai's shield breaks, he gains 25% damage.

2. 55% damage: Gai will now be capable of opening his sixth gate. He still has the same appearance from opening the third gate, with changes to his moves:

Down B: Uses Morning Peacock, an extremely strong move. It involves Gai creating friction in the air that is in the form of fists. It comes at the cost of Gai gaining 20% damage and can only be used once.

-Overall increase in damage done from all attacks

-attacks from opponent do more damage to user

3. 80% damage: Gai is now capable of opening the seventh gate. He now has a blue aura surrounding him. changes to his moves:

-Down B: Uses Hirudora(Daytime Tiger), which is an extremely power move that will kill most people. In this game, it'll not KO for obvious reasons). It is still immensely strong, and will cause Gai to gain 30% damage. This move however can't be used if Gai used Morning Peacock with the same stock.

-no increase in damage done, same as third gate

-Simply shielding gives you 2% added damage. Each second adds an additional 2%.

-Attacks from opponent does more damage to user

4. 100%+ damage: Gai can now open the gate of death(eighth gate). He is now surrounded by red vapor, which is his blood quickly evaporating. Changes to moves:

-Down B: Uses Night Guy, a move which can KO anyone hit with 30% or more damage. It comes at the cost of the user dying immediately. This move cannot be used more than once. The eighth gate can only be opened once per game.

- A dramatic increase in damage

-Cannot shield at all

-attacks from opponent do more damage to user

Conclusion: He'd be a very high risk, high reward player. He'd range around top 10-20, being difficult to use like Ryu, but worth it if one knows how to use him. I really dislike Cloud's limit, so I'd make his gates have a lot of cons to prevent it from being OP.

What do you guys think? Even if you don't want anymore new characters, say what you think about my concept. i'd like to hear from others as well. Maybe someone has a cool idea but never had the oppurtunity to share it.

Amaterasu.

I don't care how, just put her in the god damn game sometime.

Please.

this amaterasu, correct?

It'd be interesting to see it implemented...how exactly? Not sure. It'd be cool if it was those assist trophies in Smash. I could see it being that, maybe having a stage based off of it as well.

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

A straight line from Tetris.

Basically you press an attack button it quickly changes into a different shape that extends out and hits enemies. Its special attack would be communism.

I think it'd be great recognition for the series, and I feel like a lot could be done with his earth psynergy and make a cool moveset

I don't know why but I feel like that'd actually work in a way(besides the communism part- the final smash would change the stage into a screen that has a bunch of blocks stack on top of the opponent).

They might have to take some creative liberties to make it an enjoyable character to use. Like give it Cold War era weapons.

Blaziken

All others are trash

Bomberman I guess is a distant 2nd best.............maybe.

I feel like Blaziken would be very similar to Captain falcon, who already has ganon with similar moves.

At least blaziken is in Pokken.

I've always wanted to see Bomberman join Smash - simply because he's an old favourite of mine (rivaling the likes of Mario back in the day) that has a close bond to Nintendo's history.

His bombs and versatile equipment wouldn't make an inclusion that difficult either I believe. Just a perfect opportunity to pay tribute to the forgotten hero.

Leaving Bomberman aside, Roy already joined Smash 4.
