GTA V - 65GB

GTA VI ~ 260GB

That will be 6 disks that need installing using old tech or 1 cartridge if MS/Sony get with the times.

"If MS/Sony get with the times". Amazing. Now Nintendo is revolutionizing everything because they use SD cards, and everyone not doing the same is "behind the times". Sure, I love this way of thinking.

And Nintendo fans get angry when we say that some of them are.... let's say... "too enthusiastic"?

So what does MS/Sony do when games get that big? 6 disks or a cartridge?

Poor Sony. No more physical media format to leverage the console off.

We still don't know how much data is on the game carts. Furthermore it's possible they are read/write game carts. I kind of think developers will be able to patch their games right onto the game cart itself.

They ll just resort to multiple discs.

PS1 & PS2 had games that used multiple discs before, it wasnt that bad.

I think it should be a minimum of 512 GB, but, hey, I can live with it. It's just a matter of buying cards. Far from ideal, sure... But I spent my entire life with dozens of cards with me and my handheld device, so I don't have to get used to it. Still, it's a bad decision. Nintendo, you have a phenomenal concept in your hands imo. Don't screw this up with nonsensical decisions.

Multiple disks is one thing but SIX? And they didn't need to be installed in those days. Changing disks is one thing, installing 250GB with 6 disks is something else.

Those 6 disks in 5 years will be 24 disks in 10 years.

Hopefully we'll have 1,000,000 megabit internet by then. Or they could just use a 1TB microSD.

Or a new format, or everything digital, or other solutions... People were surely saying the same thing 20 years ago "What will you do when you'll need several cartridges?", "What will you do when you'll need too much CDs?", "What will you do when you'll need too much DVDs?"....

I'll wait for the release of the 260GB heavy GTA VI on the Switch before agreeing completely with you!

I dont think even 4k will require the use of that many discs.
We re talking after playstation 5...... Playstation 6.....

By then they will have better discs (size) / Hard drives, or something new.

We already have the new format. It's not new.

Looking forward to see Sony invent a format that can compete with SD cards.

Poor Sony. So sad.

What makes you think we need disks anymore?
