- Exclusive Chrono Trigger, FFVI, Secret of Mana Remake
- a ton of 3rd party AAA exclusives that doesn't involve their mascots (because we all know Nintendo's going to deliver amazing 1st party games anyways)

Nintendo has to continue the hype from Pokémon GO and Mario Run. Something that in some fashion comunicates with iOS and/or Android.
Call it Pokémon GO Switch or something. A game that you can play with all your friends on phones but that also is something you can show off and "wow" them with (and make them want a Switch too). A bigger, better game with more features and better graphics but still a social game experience.
When Karen takes her Switch to the party everyone should be able to somehow play along on their smartphones.
Animal Crossing Switch + Animal Crossing Smartphone gives you the social app features that everyone wants.
Fire Emblem Switch + Fire Emblem Smartphone enables online battles everywhere.
Pokémon Snap Switch + Pokémon Snap Smartphone will become the cute Instagram.
Tomodachi Life Switch + Tomodachi Life Smartphone is the cracy app that will generate youtube buzz.

These are not the games I want personally but these kind of games would surely WOW the masses that Nintendo needs.

General public? AAA 3rd party games...lots of them...but let's go with Red Dead 2, TES:VI, next Souls, FFXV and Cyberpunk 2077.

And hopefully, someone, sometime in some Nintendo studio will manage to successfully pitch something like this as a new IP:

I don't think they will show anything that makes a lot of people (except maybe hardcore nitendo fanboys, in the good sense) go ''WOW'' because of various reasons:

''Nintendo Switch (soon to be) only'' owners don't care about 3rd party games unless they are exclusive, and i don't see what (realistic) 3rd party exclusive they could announce that would turn heads of Non-Nintendo only customers.

Nintendo exclusives don't really have that effect on people either, so unless is the forever dreamed on hardcore 3D Metroid game that everyone wants, which honestly i don't see happening ever, there's little chance of them making an impact on non-nintendo consumers

So, it will be the same thing, new mario maybe, new mario kart maybe, new the same maybe... and It sounds terrible reading that in my mind but i say it candidly, i love ninty i just don't see them ''WOWing'' people, not anymore, that me died the first year into the Wii U life cicle, now to avoid being the Grinch, here's what I would personally love to see (but i think there's little to no chance of)

- A Console depth Fire Emblem game, you know, lots of customization, various history paths (in the same game please ^^) and different endings, with amazing battle scenes, new classes, stuff like that, W/o changin the fundamentals of its gameplay

- F-Zero game, yeah, lots of ships flying, lots of tracks, cool music, online play... one would believe is not so hard, one would be wrong, apparently.

- Metroid game metioned above, nice story that makes sense, pew pew, some space pirates, bounty hunters, online deathmatch, online co-op maybe even...? not happening...

- Bravely Default, new console, enough said.

- PEPSIMAN 2: PEPSIMAN VS COCA-COLATOR DAWN OF JUSTICE!!!

- Nintendo VS (X company), I think taking advantage of the Smash roster to put some of them into a polished 2D fighter plus the added star power of another company's IP would make for a very good game, but maybe that's just me.

- Kid Icarus 2/sequel/related to uprising, please?

- Advance Wars and/or Golden Sun for console! :D

- Ok, I don't believe they would turn heads but i would be ok with NoMoreHeroes 3 or Bayonetta 3, specially NMH

- SMT 5 for console!

well... that's more than 5, and many things more that are just pointless to talk about but good for the heart, it gives me happiness just thinking about some of those games. That being said and taking something from the OP here, if they showed a FF VI remake (they won't) I would probably loose my shit and sell my organs for it xD

The real problem is, that Nintendo may be in the mindset that if nobody buys the spinoffs, that people are not interested in the franchise at all.

I'm going to be realistic:

- Monster Hunter XX HD: an HD port/remaster like Monster Hunter Tri was on the Wii U.
- The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: it needs to be superior to the Wii U version. It should also release on the Switch first.
- Super Mario Switch: it needs to be a departure from 3D World when it comes to gameplay. More open levels.
- Enhanced ports of MK8 (16 new tracks please) and Splatoon (new modes, maps, weapons, clothes, etc.) at reduced price ($40)
- A new IP (pick your developer, maybe Retro Studios)
- Confirmation of third party games like Dragon Quest XI (PS4 version), Sonic Mania, Project Sonic 2017, Kingdom Hearts 3, Persona 5, Dragon Quest Builders, etc.
