I haven't played ROTR yet, but I like TR better than Uncharted 4, and all of the other Uncharted games. Tomb Raider simply is more of a game.
I really just never felt very involved in Uncharted. I felt more like a viewer than an active participant most of the time. In Tomb Raider, even little things like weapons customization, and little hidden areas give you some degree of agency over the experience.
Also, I just like the combat better. I'm not a fan of cover based shooters. Having enemies without weapons tends to make encounters more interesting.
Uncharted 4 has better set pieces, but I liked Tomb Raider better in most regards.

I would agree if Uncharted 4 ended with chapter 16. The first two thirds of the game are uneven and poorly paced. Starting with chapter 17 the game really hits its stride.
ROTR is certainly an improvement over the 2013 reboot, which was marred by clumsy storytelling, far too many QTEs, and just a general lack of focus and finesse. I appreciate ROTR focusing more deeply on interactive gameplay and adding more tombs.
That said, co-op endurance mode in ROTR is better than both main campaigns.
I haven't played rise, but i share the opinion with just the reboot.
ND really wanted to make U4 a conclusion, and they did that. But, at the same time, it wasn't uncharted anymore. It was a sappy "the last of us" in the uncharted world. The point of uncharted was always the mindless fun and adventure. Uncharted 4 was a family drama.
Bought tomb raider last week on xbone for $30. I've been loving it thus far. Can't say much on UC4 besides that it looks nice since i haven't played it.
Is this the first thing you shouldn't say to another person on your first date?
The PS5 Exists.

Both are great. If I had to recommend one to someone, I'd tell them to get Uncharted 4. It's just a prettier, more detailed, and sexy game. The story wasn't spectacular (in either game, really) but the characters really come to life and the set pieces are second to none.
But for me, yeah RotTR is a better buy. I haven't even booted up Uncharted 4 since the day I saw the credits roll but RotTR still gets some of my time, to this day. There's just so much to do, so much to explore, so much personalization, and it never drags. Just like the earlier Tomb Raider game, no matter what you're doing, you always feel like you're making progress, making your character stronger, and discovering something. I like it more.
I agree, but that is my opinion.
They are both great games. ROTR is just better.
