Forums - Nintendo - My Wii just ate My Zelda Disc and DIED!

Its not actually dead though once I'm through doing a office space on it, it will be. This started back when I got Gutar Hero 3 (when it came out) For some reason it just stoped reading disc for a few days. Then just as I start filling out the nintendo crap it start playing disc again. Then about a month later I start hearing this god awful noise. Its the disc inside the wii clanking around. Now its back to not reading disc. And sometimes won't even spin them. So I read some stuff online then put it down horizontal and give it a slap. It starts playing disc again and smothly too.

Now yesterday it starts with that god awful noise again. So I eject the disc and go to bed. So today I go to put a disc in and it won't read or even spin it. So I slap it (as that has helped before) and it starts reading the disc. So I eject and go to try another one and well that was the last time it worked. So I can hear that none of the disc are spinning and the motor has died. So I try slaping or beating it into submission and then it got angry and ate my Zelda disc. Don't worry about that though it was a crap one that didn't work anyway, so the zelda that works is just fine but I can't play it.

It still runs just minus everything involved with the disc. Also the warranty is bye bye.

So my question is should I try to send it to nintendo or just by a new one?
I only have $50 in downloaded content

Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable! You are a poor scientist. Especially if you think the moon landing was faked.

They usually let you keep you VC games and everything, so I suggest sending it to them...

So you're deciding whether to have Nintendo fix it for free and back up your downloaded games, or buy a new one for a lot of money....

Yeah do the one that costs a lot.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Send it to Nintendo. Why buy a new one when you can get it fixed?

Thanks to warn us;..now I know I better don't eat my Zelda disc.

Did I hear you right? You were spanking your Wii? Now that's just wrong.

I think what you are trying to say is that you don't know if you have the patience to wait for Nintendo to return your Wii. You can always hold yourself over by going and getting an o0ld school system and do some retro gaming while you wait....I'm sure there is tons to catch up on.

@dsoverpsp $90 for a repair
