Forums - Nintendo - Unannounced Switch Features?

So as Nintendo mentioned, they haven't shown everything when it comes to the NX. Granted, this could mean absolutely next to nothing, or perhaps there could be new features yet to be shown.

Anyone think that this patent could be featured? I'm not sure exactly how they'd go about it, perhaps they're saving it for something else.

What's everyone's thoughts on this possible feature as mentioned here on the IGN article?

I don't think this one will make it through considering how the controllers are.

I really can't picture how it can be, but it could be just a side feature for people to use if they want, perhaps?

Does anyone here actually think the Nintendo Switch has a projector ? + kinect sensor in it?

Thats only usable when its used as a handheld (worthless when its docked)

That goes against the unified games library (games that run the same reguardless of how your playing?).

It sounds dumb / expensive / requires a kinect like thingy too, drains batterylife for this gimmicky thing?

I really hope that "feature" isnt in the switch.

I see on screen buttons being a thing if people don't want to take their joypads with them on a bus. And I couldn't blame them.

My thoughts:  Projector + kinect = silly & expensive.

This gimmick would hurt nintendo worse than the gamepad did the Wii U.

It would easily add 100$ of extra costs ontop of whatever the Switch would cost without.

And it would only be useable when your not docked.

Its a waste, and I hope it isnt a feature in it.

I can't believe people are stll bringing up patents. Just look at all of the patents Nintendo has made in the past two years that people thought meant the NX was DEFINITELY this or DEFINITELY that, that were completely 100% not found on the NX (There are no thumb sticks going through the screen on the NS. The bulk of the processing on the NS isn't found on the base unit, etc.)

As you've said, patents don't necessarily indicate anything. The NS is a prime example of that.

I think its a possible feature on a future Nintendo device. But at the moment, the tech is too new and experimental for Nintendo to use

I don't think there will be a projector if there is already the portable screen..

I'm thinking on touch controls or something

I was thinking the same thing. Especially with the taptic feedback patents.
