Forums - Gaming - Wall Street Journal Has Heard One Developer Is Moving PS4 Titles To Nintendo Switch

The recent rumors going around is the Switch is 50% more powerful than an Xbox One running code at 16 floats. So the switch is going to be quite powerful for its size. The bad...it's also rumored to have a maximum battery life of 3 hours while detached. I guess this is why Nintendo said it's first and foremost a console.

I would keep those expectations low given the size of the device and intended to be portable. Realistically, I say expect something above the Wii U and well below X1.

Agreed, but it's only 50% more powerful if the code is optimized which is up to the developer. (and possibly if overclocking is achieved when docked via cooling aid) So it's rumor mixed with programming style, which I admit isn't anything to hold on to. The fact that it runs unreal and it's a custom chip is still promising for the Switch.

Doesn't really mean anything, it could have been a small Japanese publisher that decided the Switch is better suited to their game than the PS4 is (it's quite possible Switch due to its portable nature will overtake the PS4 in Japan quickly).

A Tegra X2 is moderately more powerful than a Tegra X1 from what I understand, nothing mind blowing. It's 625 GFLOPS effectively instead of 500 GFLOP. Neither one is close to a PS4 in power.

When in doubt just use some freaking common sense though. The NX even in "docked" mode is like half the size of an XBox One Slim (16nm) ... you're not getting like triple the performance from something 1/2 the size.

You forget moore's law my friend. Keep in mind the same technology that sent the first man to the moon was outdone by the NIntendo Gameboy But I see what you're saying. In the future maybe a device the size of an iphone will run Scorpio games easy. But for now I agree, we aren't there.

I was impressed the Vita could run Unreal 3 engine. But in practice a game like Mortal Kombat was scaled back to a PS2-ish visual quality.

So even when it can handle the engine, the graphics still need an overhaul in some cases.

Could be Final Fantasy 12, Persona 5 or Danganropa and none of them are going to even remotely push the PS4
