Good! It means that it will have Pokemon, Yokai watch, Monster Hunter that Japan will indulge in!

And if it is a handheld, then we shouldn't be comparing it to the PS4 and XONE Directly.

yeah but the 3DS allready offered that before along owning a Wii U with its unique games and experience

What do you mean by that?

Damn how can you people not see that is an hybrid? I am not impress with the console, but I have some faith since we are getting games that used to be HANDHELD ONLY on our big TV with decent graphics(finally a good HD Pokemon, Animal Crossing) and HOME CONSOLE ONLY on the go (A great looking Zelda, Mario Kart 8, possibly Skyrim) just think about the possibilities =p

This is an easy answer to know that it's a handheld regardless if Nintendo or other gamers says otherwise... ...."because you don't need a TV to play on it!" Simple.

Saying the Switch is a home console is like saying a laptop is a desktop just because you can hook up a monitor to it and use a separate KB/M. Just no.

Because the Switch is a handheld and does what the PSP/PSP Go I simply love this!

It is still a gaming console no matter how you try to spin this.

The PSP and PSV aren't designed around this philosophy. When is a streaming box a streaming box instead of a gaming console? Or a gaming console a console instead of a streaming box?

These semantics are not scientific, it's all just marketing and intended use. What is the definition of a home console?

My point is no one cares what title these boxes fit under, they care about function. The NS functions as a console and that's built into its control scheme and hardware choice. The thread "Nintendo "has quit console gaming" is based on the NS not having a Gpu in its dock. As if people care whether it's in the dock or in the tablet, the real discussion is one of power, but the Wii and Wii U were both weak so I'm saying the discussion is kind of pointless.

No, its about what it is. You can call a RV a house, but its not a house. This is a tablet. A 720p tablet. There is no scenario where a tablet is magically a home console.

Wait, so are you telling me that you thought the dock work by itself?? Lol

Nope. I'm telling you its a handheld. Its not a console. It never was. Nintendo is straight up lying to everyone.

It's a game changer, that's what it is.

Not a traditional home console but still a home console. They just want to give you the option to be able to play it when you leave the house as well so something obviously had to change in the design so you're not lugging an Xbox One sized contraption with a screen around with you.

Just because it's not designed the same as the traditional home consoles have always been doesn't mean that's not what they're going for here, especially when they specifically called it the next dedicated home console for them.

I am searching like crazy, but... the 720p seem to be just a rumor...

It's essentially a handheld, quoting Nintendo:

"The main unit of Nintendo Switch is the unit that has the LCD screen, which the two Joy-Con controllers can be attached to and detached from"

"The dock is not the main console unit of Nintendo Switch"

The only use of the dock is TV-out and function as a charging cradle, the dock is basically

This

and this in one

with detachable buttons

The dock is NOT part of the system, it will not provide extra compute power, a shame. How do you feel about this?

I still think the dock has something cause its too damn thick. It could be SCD or extra memory for swithcing games downloaded that you take with you on the go

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also
