Similar for the UK, VGChartz predicted trends of the 360 outselling the PS3, also after corrections VGChartz expected 360 sales to top PS3 sales. According to Chart Track this isn't true the PS3 has been outselling the 360 constantly in 2008 and christmas 2007 was really close (that's why the website did a major correction later on, to reflect the 1 million milestone for the PS3 achieved in the UK a while ago). Also for Australia according to Sony end user figures based on GfK tracking combined with uncounted Bravia deals PS3 sales were significantly higher than reported by VGChartz. This website cannot rival professional tracking companies, the reported figures are interesting but won't be used above paid for expert data.

Actually, after correcting data, the PS3 outsold the 360 in february according to VGChartz.

But that's besides the point. I just find 350k for the 360 in april when the biggest game of the year releases VERY low, as the 360 is probably around that number in march already.

I think the argument that people don't finish a game so they don't care about downloadable content is pretty stupid. When you buy a game you never think to yourself "I definitely won't finish this game." And consumers always want more regardless of whether they need it so that will help the 360 version.

The fact that the 360 is cheaper will cause more of the causal ps2 owners to choose 360 when they move to the current generation. In America people care a lot about price.

alot of the ps2 gamers are kids fromt he late 80s and early 90s people from the sness era thay are mostlike likely busy whit ther kids now and there kids are waay too young too play ps3 or xbox lol so once there kids grow up a few more years

 

my point is that next gen will be the best gen ever the 2th generation of people will be of gameing age! and there parents will know that games dont kill people games stop you from killing people and drinking/drufs.....ok maby not drinking!

The USA is supposed to be entering a recession, somehow I think price has to be an issue for casual GTA4 players.

 April 15, 2008 - Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
 April 29, 2008 - Grand Theft Auto IV

Just what so hard about 500k in April ?

Is there any other site/forum that denys GTA and GT selling ability like vgc does ?

I think.
GTA will sell more copies on XBOX360 but GTA will push PS3 hardware sales more up than Xbox..

Pachter is the king of crazy statements.

If he's wrong, we'll immediately discard it as one of his crazy predictions (can you even remember more than 3-4 of his off-the-wall predictions anymore? I certainly can't, and I'm sure Pachter knows this).

However, if he's right, everyone will remember it, and Pachter will be the-guy-who-knew-the-PS3-would-explode-with-GTA4, and he could honestly ride that prediction for a year or more. He makes a mistake? No worry, he's the guy who knew what GTA4 would do for the PS3.

 This does have some merit. Think about it, why is the PS3 selling so well compared to 360 despite the fact that it costs more and has less great games for it? Johnny average isn't some gaming whiz, he just knows that last time he bought a PS2 because GTA was on that console so naturally it must be on Ps3 this time as well, right? It doesn't seem so farfetched when you imagine the average intelligence of a consumer  (Carlin: And then realize that half the people are dumber than that. [At least, I think it was Carlin that said that])

I completely forgot about GT5P.

And what's sad is that I've been using it as the reason why Sony will sell more hardware then MS over GTAIV for weeks now.  >_<
