Once upon a time there was a pokemon named Charmander. He was given to Nintendo Man by Professor Oak. Ninitendo Man Tried him out and thought that he sucked. He accidently said that out loud. That hurt Charmander's feelings so he ran back to Oak's lab and told him that NIntendo Man said that he sucked. Oak took Charmander back and gave Nintendo man a magikarp / weedle <--- choose one. and gave the charmander to dsoverpsp. Dsoverpsp loved charmander and over time charmander learned some great moves like at first ember then flamethrower and kicked the bottoms off the other pokemon. Charmander Eventually evolved in to charmeleon and then to charizard. he got so strong that Charizard beat the elite 4 (yes all 26 pokemon were defeated by Charizard. Nintendo man heard about this and regretted what he said about charmander sucking. his magickarp could only splash / weedle could only use string shot <--- choose same one before.

well, weedle gets poison sting doesn't he? and abra, he can learn psychic as an egg move in diamond and pearl, then he rocks :3 weakest pokemon: Happiny, curse that little egg holding jerk :3 lol (I don't actually remember what moves it gets) so it's probably not that bad.

Magicarp, or Metapod/Kakuna/Abra caught in the wild.

 When he evolves into Gyarados, he's no longer Magikarp - he's Gyarados. Therefore, he's a different PKMN.

Statistically, Magikarp is the weakest PKMN in all of the games. The biggest reason for that is because Gyarados was supposed to be a "surprise" and a reward for anybody that bothered to actually level up their Magikarp, as it was clearly the weakest in the entire game. Gyarados is one of the strongest in all of the games, so it's a fun tradeoff.

Abra doesn't naturally learn any combat moves, but it has much higher stats, and it can actually learn TMs. Magikarp is incapable of learning ANY TM moves whatsoever.

 Weedle, Kakuna, Caterpie, Metapod, Goldeen, etc, are all much more powerful than Magikarp, as well. I've won battles against higher level PKMN with Kakuna and Metapod. I've NEVER done that with a Magikarp. Additionally, they've all got higher stats than Magikarp, and all can have much more effective moves than Magikarp.

Conclusion: This is not a matter of opinion. I have presented solid, undeniable evidence. Magikarp is the weakest, case closed.
