If everything is going HD, logically all genres and markets go with it, i.e. porn. Its not so much a matter of liking porn or wanting HD porn but not wanting the new standard to be something that censors what we can or can't see, I'm sorry, porn remaining on DVD may seem reasonable for the price but its just not logical.

You should check one out in hidef maybe you'll change you're opinion. Also people used to say the same thing when they first started to come out on standard dvds.

i personally think we should Boycott them both... Its stupid having to pick between two, and then find out that were fucked over because the one we chose isnt going to be the standard

The next gen DVD wars are nothing at the moment!   They sold what?! 1.5 million units combined?!

C'mon DVD is kicking their asses right now... Just like PS2 owns PS3 bigtime! 

 DVD will last for another 3-5 years before the mass market will shift their attention towards HD-DVD and Blu-ray... So it doesn't matter who's winning now cause now it's a niche market... Iff i recal correctly. The same guys who are calling Blu-ray is poownin HD-DVD's ass are saying Wii owns PS3 BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER CAUSE THIS IS ONLY THE START. PS3 JUST HAS TO PICK UP STEAM (I believe that's bullshit but hey... They can think and have an opinion too)... So... You guys are misleading yourself there... Choosing whatever fits you most...

Personally, I doubt whether either format will become successful/dominant ...

There has been a lot of failed formats over the years (8-track, Mini-Disc, SACD, DVD-A, DAT, BETAMAX, Lazerdisc, DivX, UMD,  Zip-Disc) and most of the time these formats were far higher quality than the format they were trying to replace; the reasons why they failed is quite diverse but it usually was because they offered little beyond quality/capacity as the reason to upgrade.

Personally, I think the direction the industry is moving in is towards digital distribution and I anticipate that download/video-on-demand services will be taking off (roughly) at the same time these disc formats should be starting to gain popularity (2009/2010).
