Forums - Gaming - BattleField 1 is one of the worse performing tittles at 60fps on Consoles, runs at 620p in some cases! Awfull!

gears of war is an fps now? interesting...

probably there are more people now playing counter strike 1.6 / source / go than in all of those games combined, not to mention than pretty much all of those games are on pc with arguably bigger communities (overwatch) you could add a shit ton of other fps games like Arma, Insurgency, Dayz, H1Z1, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, Heroes & Generals, Op Flashpoint, Dirty Bomb, Doom, S.K.I.L.L, Verdun, Planetside, Killing Floor, Payday, Quake,.... that's just from the top of my head.

But anyway, the point was never a popularity contest, you mentioned how terribly BF1 is performing on the xb1, the fact is I already played the alpha and beta on my PC and it not only looks, but more importantly, plays incredibly.

So yeah, that's the right way to go on it (not to mention using mouse/kb as the gaming gods intended for fps games)

You are wrong and you don´t really undertstand jack about numers across different games, the only thing i can say to you is that i play Cs Go and played 1.6, i can tell you that CS Go has 10m MaU, Cod has >40m, Cod is bigger than all those PC games combined you mentioned and most numbers come from Xbox and PlayStation.

I think you're the one who doesn't understand jack about plenty of things, one of which, considering Gears of War an FPS.

Also, comparing a theorethical peak for an entire franchise, (as in, all CoD games in all platforms gathered into 1 number) to the monthly number of only CS GO users of October 2016 and thinking it proves the point you're trying to make is kind of ridiculous.

Especially when the main point I was making was not one of popularity, but of game quality being far superior on PC for FPS games in specific.

To sum it up, yes I can argue the numbers if you want, but that was not my original point with doing it wrong on a console for BF.

Post updated, you said all CS were more played than all games i mentioned, i said Cod is bigger than all Pc Fps you can put together since 1995.

As you can see Cod destroys your flawed logic and since i hate Pc elitist as much as i hate Console fanboys i´m happy to prove you are wrong and humilliate you over here, i updated my post, feel free to check it out, tons of data on different games.

Also i was reffering to Shooters, i know Gears is a Tps, i played more Gears saga than i can remember, such good times, also played the first one on pc, loved it!

Here is what you said, BIGGER DOES NOT EQUAL BETTER! If you said better i could have agreed, Pc communities are indeed better and more supportive of their games BUT YOU SAID BIGGER!

"probably there are more people now playing counter strike 1.6 / source / go than in all of those games combined, not to mention than pretty much all of those games are on pc with arguably bigger communities (overwatch)."

Again BIGGER OR BETTER? What do you mean? Bigger is false in case you only count OVerwatch, all the rest is bigger on CONSOLES INCLUDING HALO, GEARS, R6, COD, BATTLEFIELD, DESTINY (not on Pc), DOOM etc.

now you're just being ridiculous though and through. in what way am I supposed to feel humiliated exactly?

1- on BF4, using your numbers, PC has the 2nd highest amount of active users ate the time of the screenshot

2- using sales numbers? really? when was the last time you've bought a pc game on retail? Is steam, gog, humble store, etc giving out sales numbers now? no one will take you seriously with that one lol

3- What about all the other games I mentioned on my earlier post, most of which are either PC exclusive or simply have much larger communities on PC? And that was on the FPS genre only, don't get me started on RTS, MMORPGS and battle arena games (LoL, Dota, etc)

seriously, just stop it, you're neither arguing my original point nor convincingly arguing the strawman you have created.

on a final note, I'm no pc elitist. I simply play each game where they play the best or have the best community/support. Friday I'll be all up in BF1 on PC of course. In the meantime I've been chipping away at the LoH: Trails of Cold steel platinum on my Vita. Just got a PSVR last week and next month I'm taking a few days off of work to play FFXV (not to mention desperately waiting for the 1st DS3 dlc to play with one of my friends on PS4).

so yeah... that's just me

We were talking about shooters and now you are bringing games like Dota? hahaha man desperation much? We all know LEague of Legends per example is bigger than Steam altogether and Psn and whatever, that is not the point here, we were discussing shooters and wich clearly Consoles dominate Pc across a huge list of games including Battlefield, Doom, Halo, Call of Duty and so on.

RTS and MMos is another discussion, i don´t think people on Consoles play games like these in the first place but if you are going by this path, then Sports games, fighters etc.. oh yeah more played on pc right? Lmao

See? Different platforms, different games wich rule each one, when talking about shooters, Consoles dominate pc marketplace in raw numbers across most games with OW or Cs being the exception and not the rule, sure some shooters are only available on Pc and not consoles but those i´m not counting since it´s not fair, games like Arma.

moving the goalposts much? the point was about FPS, not 'shooters' That's why I was dumbfounded why you brought Gears of War into the mix. What I have said is that there are more FPS games on PC, which in a way dilutes the userbase. I don't think that's even disputable, that's why you mentioned counting Arma as 'not fair'.

but for the final time, my main point was not a numbers game, it was a question about quality. PCs are the correct platform for FPS and RTS games. Not just from a performance and visual perspective, but most importantly because of mouse & keyboard support. There's a reason why consoles don't allow players using mouse/keyboard combo on their multiplayer fps games. and since you said you've played CS I assume you know the reson why.

in the end of the day of anyone wants to play bf1 on a console it's their money and their choice, I hope they will have fun. but the best experience is without a question on PC. I can't imagine playing a sniper with a controller in hand. It would be like eating cereals with chopsticks for me.

i love to play on Mouse as much as i do on a Controller, sure i can aim faster on Pc but that does not mean i can´t on a Controller aswell, it´s just different and comes down to personal preferences, now playing with Mouse and Kb will give you advantage if you play agaisnt people with controllers and that is why i love Console gaming because everyone is on equal foot, no people playing at 144hz vs 30hz or people with 1000e mouses and kb agaisnt people with "broken" ones.

no surprise, you cant trust western developers one bit, FF15 wont even run under 720p on Xbox One and it looks miles better than this

Alright so i think we've established some common ground here. That's exactly what i meant by the game being superior on pc. When I'm playing any fps I want to be as good as I know I can be. The fact that for the most part, on consoles, fps games need to have a type of aimbot just to compensate the controller insuficiencies is unacceptable to me. I feel like I'm being nerfed from the start. Especially in a game with the distances that battlefield has, imagine taking 1KM headshots with a sniper using a controler... you'd only kill afk's

Everytime a new Battlefield releases we have these threads. Not surprising anymore.
