Forums - Sony - Dualshock 4 Support Coming To Steam

So what does this do, exactly? I thought the controller came with its own PC drivers, and you could configure its use on each PC game directly already.

You can. But this support is integrated directly into Steam.

That is HUGE news.
Sony will sell more of these, and people on pc will be able to use decent controllers now.

PC has had decent controllers for decades.
Last generation you could use Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 controllers.

Before that you could use Playstation 2, Gamecube and Xbox controllers.

Madcats, Logitech, Razer, Tt eSports, Steel Series, Thrustmaster, Saitek and more have given PC gamers options for years as well.

Have you ever looked at what's even available on PC?

Most people when they use controllers on pc have one of those cheap logitech type ones.

Dual Shock 4 is a million times better than one of those.

Microsoft pretty much became the defacto standard with the Xbox 360 controller on PC, dethroning Logitech... And at a great price.
They even released the Xbox 360 styled controller specifically for the PC.

Please stare at your screen for more than a few seconds and note the amount of comments etc' the Xbox 360 styled controllers have gotten in comparison to the logitech's.

Glad to hear it. Got myself an Xbox One Controller. The new one with Bluetooth, because I don't want to have a dongle blocking a USB port. Turns out that thing is shit. Don't get me wrong, the controller itself is okay. But every now and then, it loses the connection and then all hell breaks loose! My whole system is freezing, I can't do anything until I turn off the Xbox Controller, turn it back on and wait for it to connect. It really gets on my nerves. Works fine with cable, but I didn't spend 60 € to play with cable! Fix dat shit, Microsoft! xP

I have to say I haven't exhibited such problems with my Xbox One controller or PC yet, you likely have an issue somewhere.

They can't be people because the Logitech controllers do not fit into human hands.

That's why PC people will now buy DS4 because finally, there will be a decent controller for them. Sony will be making trillions because of that now.

They always had a decent controller and it's called DS3. But it was always a hassle to get it to work.

Even I as known DS4 hater have now switched to DS4 for PC. RIP DS3, best controller ever.

That's pretty cool. Good move by Sony!
