whether or not NX gets them unless there is a PS4P version isn't as important. As long as they get the games in any aspect will be a victory. More than likely, the only ones who will be taking full advantage of NX will be Nintendo. But at the very least, for the first time in a decade, Nintendo will still be in the conversation when it comes to 3rd party.

This still requires the third party games to sell. if the same Wii U audience that allowed COD & Assassins Creed flop are the NX's primary early adopters then third party success is far frome gaurnteed.

Well, that is relative. If a PS4 port needs to sell 400k minimum to cover its production costs, it would be very different than a port that needs 800k to cover costs. If making NX ports is as easy as hinted at, this should help a lot of studios, specially small and medium ones that have A-AA games easy to port to begin with. I still think that a decent amount of the JRPG heavy library of the Vita would have been at least profitable enough on the 3DS if the device was powerful enough to handle them, so porting them to the NX shouldn't be either difficult nor expensive.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

The home console is the most important thing in Nintendo‘s future as mobile devices further erode away the remaining dedicated hand held gaming market. Sony knows this. Thats why they will not make a replacement for the Vita. Nintendo knows this as well.

Considering the fact that the WiiU has lost more than 85% of its original userbase compared with the 44% of the 3DS, Nintendo knows they can't put all their eggs in two baskets anymore. And if they have to choose, they'll chose handhelds. Even now, it's the thing that is giving them profits, compared to the money hole of the WiiU.

And you are not kidding. Nintendo is loosing consumers on all fronts and they are in a very bad position right now. But they have been in tough spots before and still managed to pull through. Never count Nintendo out. The NX will cater to both markets somehow. And until they actually show the NX, we won't know how they will do it. The only guarantee is that Nintendo is consolidating their portable and home console markets into one. And how they plan to do it is the big mystery.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

I'm not doubting the fact Nintendo will make a hybrid console. I'm just saying that, if Nintendo had to choose between a home console that doubles as a handheld, or a handheld that doubles as a home console, it would choose the latter.

If the NX really has just two SKUs that would mean the Home Console portion will not operate without the HandHeld other wise there would be three SKUs

Yup. So there wont be just a console version. Its either hand held plus console or just, what?

It could be console with hand held or just hand held. Which means the system is hybrid.

Or it could be console with hand held, or console without hand held. Which means it's a home console with a mini portable and not a hybrid.

Could work both ways, doesn't prove anything.

There hasn't been any announcements from software companies about ports to NX of software with high gpu and cpu demands. I think if the NX was a 2 teraflop plus gpu console we'd be hearing a lot more about support. Pretty sure its going to be fairly low level performance whatever it is. Many are saying its definitely Tegra based.

The $100 bundle option could be a VR visor that the tablet slides into. Similar concept to the Samsung VR system from oculus.

I was thinking a bundle of reasonable power 720p tablet, base station with fan and VR helmet/visor should be something like $199-279. I think the time has gone where Nintendo can charge sky high prices for rubbish hardware.

Also I'm happy to see a healthy $299 price tag. I don't believe Nintendo need to cheap out on the hybrid and I certainly wouldnt want them to cheap out on a dedicated home console

Agreed. It's a good sign.

But we barely know anything about software support outside perhaps that it can run a Wii U-like game and one Ubisoft Dance title. Nintendo must have a lot of NDA out on NX so knowing about real and actual is very rare.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Really we need that reveal as we are getting into the shopping season now and people may spend the money on other hardware rather then save it for a NX if we don't get any official info and hype.

Do you guys believe in backward compatibility?

My Wii U needs tech assistance, but i am not in a hurry right now. Since i am almost sure to buy NX in launch anyway, was thinking of not fixing it right now.

I expect it to be BC with digital versions of legacy titles, but will require proper ports for Wii U games. Such titles may or may not be crossbuy or discounted if you owned them before.
