If PSVR sells half that well Sony should be happy.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
Sony's already said that supply will be limited. They'll likely sell out of whatever they've manufactured in time. How many units that is remains to be seen.

You guys are underestimating PSVR. It takes a relatively small attach rate to hit these numbers and those dont conut the millions of PS4s to be sold this holiday. By January a 50+ million base is a given. It is far more likely that simple production capabilities are the only thing stopping it from hitting 3 million easily.
That would be pretty amazing given the price. But I don't think legs will be very good with underwhelming software support and price.

Considering the price range of those devices, it's not surprising.
OT: I think this is a pretty solid prediction given that PSVR will be the cheapest headset out there, and will sell well just based off the fact it supports all PS4 games. It's basically a TV on your head. If Sony continues to develop it further, down the road we could potentially see a 4K version.

Yeah, but limited supply is a relative term, and Sony has always been pretty good about trying their best to meet high demand. 2.6 million may be a bit much, but I can imagine Sony had enough confidence in what they were doing to manufacture a number close to that. I hope so, anyway, because the device has literally sold out within minutes everytime a new retailer gets a new shipment to preorder
VR is a gimmick. It will never take off. Oculus Rift and Vive are already dead. PSVR will be just the next PS Move.
Lol at the start of the year, these research firms predicted millions of units sold for Vive and Oculus, look at them now. Looking at steamspy sales of VR games, Vive should be around 100k sold.
