It was a Suzuki-Gun show (faction in NJPW/NOAH), so it was basically NJPW talent (they own NOAH).  Taichi, the guy with the mask, has a gimmick kind of like Fandango, except where he thinks he's an amazing and sexy singer.

I hate that the New Day beat the record. Same with Nikki Bella. They haven't had a legit win in months. It was like watching someone being dragged across the finish line. Did they finish? Yes. But they didn't do it on their own power and they didn't do it legitimately.

I know its entertainment, but still. I really wasn't entertained wondering how they were going to steal another win. Or which distraction will get the ref to turn away while the cheating ensued. Meanwhile good tag teams get buried in order to chase this record. It was like watching the Wyatt Family and The Shield get buried so that they could cash in on the Usos.

Who knows, maybe the surviving members of Demolition want one last run and this their story.

Probably. We need to bring back some magic to the tag division.  DIY had the best tag team match I've watched in maybe 20 years at NXT Takeover Toronto.  Yet on the main roster we get what?

So it looks like I was right. It ended up being Dolph Ziggler against Styles. He did end up the number 1 contender.

On one hand, it will be hard for me to get invested in it because with how much of a loser Ziggler has been booked as (Such a shame, he's a great talent) it's hard for me to even believe he'd have some chance at winning the title.

On the other hand, AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler? Sweet Jesus, think of how AWESOME that match is going to be with the two names involved!!!

Recent history doesn't make it look good for Ziggler. Talent wise it will be a excellent match with both having a solid fast style. But still its a shame. I was hoping we'd see more of the Undertaker by now. Hype should be building.

Axe and Smash are both part of the Class Action lawsuit filed against the WWE regarding CTE.  New Day breaking the record was a foregone conclusion.  All three members could have been injured and they still would have found a way to erase Demolition from the record books.  They would have made New Day into masked wrestlers and had Rich Swan, Cedric Alexander, and Titus defending the belts.
