Forums - Gaming - If You Could Get Rid of One Genre, Which One Would It Be?

Probably sports.

odd idea and a cool read as to how people want to remove certain Genres to get rid of some of the communities they have spawned, I would almost agree with things like League of Legends but not quite because there are some people who are not the loud toxic players who play that and genuinely just love the Genre.

As for FPS games not worrying about character designs I think Overwatch has completely changed that recently, a game with lovingly detailed and created characters even for a game with zero story mode it still has very well produced individual characters for an fps.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

There are definitely exceptions to every rule. For example, I hate FPS, but I'm totally down for Destiny or Halo (Bungie only).

If we're talking about narrative genre, then zombies.
But if we're talking about mechanical genre, then I guess open world survival. And I mean, I don't want it to die, I just wish there were fewer and better survival games, rather than the avalanche of them made by people who figure the genre gives them leeway to not tighten mechanics and balance the game properly.

If I had to, probably MOBAs.

I dunno, I'm just not a fan of the genre, and it seems to be one of the more toxic genres in terms of communities, so yeah...

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

None.

Genre itself did nothing wrong, after all.

While I personally don't like it, I do see the appeal in it. The fact that you can draw football-like play strategies on it and have it make perfect sense gives you a good feeling of the kind of player (and spectator) that this genre attracts.

Action RPGs.
I think most of them would be more enjoyable as strategy or turn-based.

My man!

Or go the half & half root, like Xenoblades is (I like that system too), and ATB from FF as well.

Id be so much more hyped for FF15 and FF7R if they where made not as action-rpg's.

Anime rehash, grindy and more of the same. Sounds like them all.

Is that all ?

You worry about Japanese culture too much.

Do you have xenophobia by any chance ?
