We're talking sales? That's a different matter, I thought this was about the lyrics.

Music is not about the lyrics, that's like saying videogames are about stories.

Indeed, lyrics is just one metric that makes a song, but great lyrics alone aren't enough. Liz delivery and perfomance are equally important. I'd imagine the same song would be very boring covered by other great vocalists.

Does this count? its from dec. last year :

Its a much better song and its almost from this year.

Or how about this instead (a happy tune):

This year has been pretty garbage for Music.

Never been a better time for good musicians, now that streaming is king, it's very important for artists to make GREAT songs. Not just ones that fans can buy off iTunes and listen to once or twice, only for those songs to forgotten when they stop being trendy.

Streaming changed the game, now artists need to make songs that people come back to over and over (every x number of stream counts as a sale), so great music that make people want to listen to regularly will be rewarded on the long-run.

I don't know, I think its been a pretty good year for music. New albums from Weezer, Deftones, Katatonia, Radiohead, Devin Townsend, Plini and Russian Circles have all been really solid. I have no complaints.

The song did absolutely nothing for me. I listened to it all. Wouldn't listen again and I actually like Katy Perry.

Her tits are fantastic. But she doesn't show them much in the video. Not my favorite. Also why do the hottest women have to downgrade themselves with hunks of metal on their face or belly button? Just use makeup and keep the hair long and wavy of course especially if it's dark! Oh she's a singer?

That song is an absolute treasure ;)

Love it.

Same I generally like Katy Perry, and this song is just flat. Its not a "best of the year" song.

it's definitely a nice song, but nowhere close to being considered as best of the year

I like Perry (but she's not my favorite), but this feels kind of dated for 2016, like we've heard it before

2016 is such a horrible year for the music indusry, I almost never switch to radio cause 95% they'll be playin Bieber/Rihanna/Drake 's bullshit porn which I'm so tired of, not to mention that DJ's have totally lost their 2010-2014 cool inspiration

one of the very few good pop this year is Sia and Gaga's new song, Eurovision had a couple of good songs too

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
