I love the game but I don't see much development, his story is great but he's the same character after the prologue.
I came here to say Joel...but I think you're right. Ezio is a really great character that we get to watch grow so much throughout his life.

In the beginning, he's a cold-blooded maniac with a hatred for Dragons. By the end (Going off of the first ending to segue into Drakengard 2), he's come to love his Dragon so much that he sets her free to kill her and give Angelus peace, despite knowing it could end the world.

You're confusing great character with great character development. John Marston doesn't go through much of the latter. I'd say Wei Shen from Sleeping Dogs.
