The fact he was able to string all those PC's and Monitors to render that is an impressive feat just by itself, especially considering this was before the era of Eyefinity/Surround vision which allowed you to do that with a single PC.

On a PC Enthusiast forum once, I saw a guy actually pipe water from a swimming pool for his water loop.

If I were to stereotype gamers for being physically inactive, that enthusiast found a great use for his swimming pool. Or was he leeching from the neighbor...?

His own. Just ran a couple pipes out his bedroom window.
Apparantly swimming Pools stay at a pretty stable and low temperature.
