Forums - Gaming - Some IGN guy thinks Xbox One S competes with Ps4 Pro and Scorpio is a different league, Lmao!

I didn't watch the video but I'd say the Xbox slim does compete with the ps4 slim and pro. It's not as though there is another Xbox that competes with the pro yet.
Just because something competes doesn't mean it wins or in this case is more powerful.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

I have not watched the video, but will respond to the OP.

That the Xbox One S competes with the PS4P is self-evident? They are both consoles, they are both slight alterations to consoles that had a slight power differential. They are both touting 4K upscaling of games and 4k video display as key features (albeit with the Xbox One S having the 4k Blu-Ray drive the PS4P lacks).

If your argument is that the PS4P has a sufficient power differential to make it out of the Xbox One S's league, that is your opinion, based on a completely unscientific term.

But to an average consumer, the biggest differentiator of the two is going to be the current strength of the PS brand, and price. Feature for feature, these two consoles are absolutely in competition with one another.

I did not watch the video. But the only incentive to pick Xbone S is the UHD drive. Both PS4 and PS4Pro have advantage in games and price factor is also appealing. I think both will do better than the Xbone S.

It's true, the xbox one s is cheaper, upscale games to 4k too, has hdr, uhd br drive, xbox live is better than ps network and has a battlefield 1 bundle, the xbox scorpio has all that and the performance will be better than any console next year. I don't like xbox that much these days and I prefer the better performance of the ps4 but xbox one s is kinda attractive too.

Are you kidding me. BF1 720P on Xbone S upscalled to 4K would look lot more blurry than 1080P mode

I'm not talking about the performance or specs, obviously the ps4 is more powerful, even the normal ps4. But the competition for customers is there.

Digital Foundry says it is a significant difference visually.

PS4P wouldn't be a big upgrade for him even if it was 6TF.

Oh snap, that console warz shade being tossed my way!

Too bad Sony didn't go that route. I don't even have my PS4 hooked up to my 4K set, so I can excuse the lack of a UHD player. But the hardware upgrade is just not enough.

Want a big upgrade? Wait for Ps5, Scorpio isn´t that of a much big upgrade either, 6tf for native 4K at very high is still not possible, not even Titan with 12TF manages in many games so let´s no go ahead of ourselves here.

N4G comment section is full of Ponys claiming Scorpio competes with PS5, not the Pro, because they know the Scorpio will easily outperform the Pro.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I stopped clicking on anything IGN after the tekken 7 ordeal. They were my number one site for the last 10 years but I'll never use them again.

I am not going to watch the stupid IGN video. But upscalling Xbone S games and PS4Pro to 4K will have significant difference as the gpu is a big upgrade in PS4Pro. 12 CU to 36CU in PS4Pro. Both are new console so I guess for consumer there is a competition. But honestly anyone interested even in Xbone should save money for next year.
