The PS3 version of GTA IV is outranking the 360 version on amazon.co.uk for quite a while now, that would have been unlikely considering the 360 still larger install base for the UK if you were to believe Microsoft's hype.
IMO the non-free downloadable future content is not really crucial, not a big reason to buy a 360 over a PS3 at least. I think most PS2 owners looking for an upgrade will take more into account console built quality, available as well as expected anticipated games (and nearly all high profile exclusive PS2 games are more or less confirmed to receive PS3 exclusive releases), pricing (although the 360 has a lower entry price, people also look at value for money just look at past 60 GB vs 20 GB PS3 sales or 360 core vs premium sales) and unique distinguishing features. From the big perspective IMO this exclusive content isn't a big console selling point for getting a 360 over a PS3, not better than free lag free online play, not more important than having no risk for disc scratching on PS3 disc, etc.

Besides you saying GT 5 prologue is POOR a simulation racing games just shows your bitterness towards it, probably because it will outsell Forza 2 |
If the DLC is episodic in nature doesnt that mean an extra story element for each episode rather than tag-on missions? Sort of like those Sam & Max episodes, and Half-Life 2 episodes?
Well that was my impression. But if the standard of the DLC is the same as Mass Effect's recent one then yes it probably wouldnt be great.
However, Rockstar just announced a social club website where people track their statistics online e.g. who finished the game fastest, most kills, which areas are the most dangerous etc. So extra content will definitely appeal to the completionist fans.
I just don't see DLC making a big impact on which platform gets more GTA IV sales. I agree with Sony. The DLC will be good for 360 owners but it doesn't mean that PS3 will be inferior.

Selnor,
I sincerely doubt the DLC will have so much impact on the story.
It may end to be a very interesting content for all the GTA fans, but I doubt it will be so important for the story.
And yes, not everybody buy product online AND the add-on only come later this year.
Whatever, 199/269 euros to play GTA4 is still the best weapon of MS and that is a good one according to me.
Time to Work !
DLC > No DLC.
Microsoft buys a winning hand again.

He might be saying it's poor compared to Forza 2. I just looked on Metacritic and GT5 Prologue has an average of 82 from 12 critics while Forza 2 has a 90 from 56 critics. Add in the fact that review scores generally go down over time and it does beg the question that maybe the gimped racing title with the big sales might just be coasting along on it's name.
