I'll be playing the 1080p version which I believe has the graphical settings set to max. A shame they haven't released footage from that. Although this doesn't really scale much going from the PC comparisons. A Witcher 3 1080p graphical update for PS4 pro will be much welcomed.
I am not surprised, There will always be compromises for consoles. I will say the same thing for Scorpio as well. You want real 4k gaming than PC gaming is the only way to go. If you got the cash.

bolded part is all that matters.
Consoles are price prohibited. Even if they can make the hardwsre, you cant just make a $1000 console.
I think once the cost is favtored into these argumwnts its easy to see the benfits of consoles. And no matter whst, in 4yrs when they csn get a 9tf GPU into a $400 console, there will be stand alone 16TF GPUs that cost $400 on their own. That's just the way of thimgs.
If we really wanna be fair, let's see if a $400 PC can do what the Neo does.
They mentioned 3 display options on PS4, right?
One of them could be 1080p with the high-textures shown on PC?
Id like to see the differences of 1080p version of PS4 pro and PC. The difference should be even less noticible.

Yes. When it comes to frames though the PC version will still walk all over the PS4pro.
The PS4pro can have the higher quality textures and all the bells and whistles you can imagine at 1080p, like for like with whatever the PC is doing at 1080p with ultra settings. But the CPU in the PS4pro will still mean most games even with all that will not hit a rock solid 60fps unless it was already in the high 40s to mid 50s on the PS4s.

Yeaa! I am hoping that at a minimum, Ps4 1080p 30fps setting will be able to match PC max settings.
Since currently, there are some stuff missing as well as lower textures like in this one

Still quite impressive what a $400 console can do however.

They are using at least twice as high resolution as 1080p to upscale... So that would be 2715x1527 (4.1 million pixels) |
I think games are going to to generally opt for 1440p or 1800p when doing less than native 4K. Much like 720p and 900p I believe those just scale better.
Some X1 games do 1080p vertically, but drop the horizontal resolution. Such as MKX's 1360x1080. Its possible we'll something like that on on Pro and Scorpio.

1440p will jistbjotnacale better to 4k the qay 1800p would. Its just about getting an all round sharper image because you are scaling for a smaller defecit.
But none of that applies here, the PS4pro isnt even rendering it's images in a way atypical of how games are generally rendered then just scaled up. Its using a scaling method that is more complex and accurate than your run off the mill scalers and probably more resource heavy, which is why it has dedicated hardware for that specific kinda scaling.
This is all just Sony doing more with less really. Going for efficiency as opposed to brute force.

I hear ya, but this scaling techniqe doesn't sound entirely different than temporal effects already being used on current gen consoles. They generally opt for a resolution like 720p, 900p, and upscale to 1080p.
