The tournament takes place over a course of 6 months, (Pretty long time for a tournament) and the winning team receives an NX system. 

If this news is coming out, then the official announcement can't be far off....Hopefully.

Yeah, it seems like Nintendo is finally starting to talk about the NX officially.  Hopefully, they have their NX press conference this month if only to shut the rumormongers up.  I love speculation but it starts to get tiresome when people start to treat rumors as absolute fact.

Whoa. That's strategically smart. Interesting move, Nintendo.

Easy advertising. Nintendo must be planning an NX reveal event. They better talk soon.

Hopefully they reveal *what it is* sopn.  Not a very big motivator at the moment :P

At this point, that's the biggest reason why I want them to show the system. Not to actually see it, but to just end the never-ending rumors already!
They were really cool to here for the first year, but ever since they announced the delay and that it wouldn't be at E3, they've just gotten so annoying!

Why cant they do this for the Smash scene in the US, or even worldwide?

So... can we see it now Nintendo? I tell you what, show the thing before october and I will buy it day one even if it sucks, I want to see it!

Why does it have to be Europe only?! Why can't it be worldwide...? Why such a focus on Europe for that matter too... T.T

Probably because Europe has been their weakest market this gen, with its Wii U sales barely catching up to Japan's right now, and also it being the 3DS' 3rd selling market in its lifespan. They probably want to strengthen or crack into that market first before America and Japan. They're probably saving Japan for last because they're confident that they'll be able to have them in their pocket. 
But yeah, sucks that Americans are missing out on it. I was ready to mop the floor with all those kids and squid unfortunate enough to come across my path!
