I can't reply to you - the mod says I'm causing trouble for you.

Negative. The mod told not to cause trouble for him. You weren't prohibited from replying at all.

To be fair, replying to that truthfully could have created a problem.

So, as a 'gamer' you're opting for 4K Blu-ray movies over better looking games? Weird.

The guy likes his console to serve the purpose of both a gaming machine and a 4k movie playback machine. Totally understandable for someone aiming for both offerings. Something ps4 is not offering at the moment. What is so weird about someone's choice or preferance for this particular combo offering? What is actually weird is that you are offering your opinion as though it is the only right one. Its all about choice and Personnel preferences and perception of value.

Yea, to the OP, the 4k blu ray player outweighs the game exclusives.

He will still get the 90% of games that comes to both systems. But to him, those couple of exclusives do not outweigh the loss of an entire function.

I think the real point being made is:

1. You sold your PS4. This means that you have no access to PS4 games, of which there are exclusives. And now you intend on keeping it that way because...

2. PS4 Pro doesn't have a UHD Drive. You're giving up games for roughly 100 movies over the next year (many of which aren't native 4K, but remastered). But the real kicker is...

3. You're replacing a console you currently own with a console that has the same exact library, that being one that is also available in near entirety on PC.

Now see, if you are really about the movie quality and not just here to do whatever this is, then you would get a UHD player later, when they drop to a better price (and they will at an alarming rate). After all, this theoretical plan you have about getting a Pro would have had to wait until November 10th anyway.

So why would you get a standalone? Well, for better sound, and to watch in Atmos (which no console supports). Even that aside it'll end up being cheaper, too, and you won't have to migrate data.

What is stopping him from getting ps4 later based on that very logic you said.

Nothing, but based on previous encounters with him, i don't believe one would have ever been in his future, regardless.

No, he'll be able to get 100% of games that come to both systems, but based on the number of PS4 true exclusives, brand exclusives, and console exclusives, he'll only have access to about 50% of 8th generation console games. Ownership of a PC would dwindle that greatly, but a PC would reduce the point of an XB1S even more, leaving it as simply a UHD player.

I don't know, based on what I seen of soundwave, he seems to just be on the opposite end of lawlight in arguments and to be frank it seems one is picking more fights than the other. I seen this many times. I never seen him as someone who would make rash decision based on no sound logic.

Ignore the op for who he is right now, and treat it as a blank user, you can see his logic is sound.

Just look at the post before you, why that logic is understandable.

Actually, the logical thing is to buy a standalone, since it supports more audio types. And I picked that post apart to show it as untrue.

So basically I sold my PS4 a month ago in anticipation of Neo. I'm getting a 4ktv this fall, but now that the Pro doesn't even play 4k Blurays I'm basically screwed by Sony. I'm not paying another extra 200-400 bucks for 4k BR player AND a PS4 Neo. I might as well get an XBox One S now because it's one of the cheaper 4k BR players and just game on that since I doubt the 4k games on the Pro will run that great. And no Netflix is not good enough, the whole point of getting a 4ktv is for the best image, a stream is not going to match a 4k Blu Ray. So basically I'm being forced into an Xbox. Now I'm wondering if I should just ditch the PS ecosystem entirely and just wait for Scorpio next year which is going to be more powerful. Sorry Sony but you just lost a customer.

I understand wher you're coming from, but it was a mistake to sell your PS4 in anticipation of the Neo. You could have still had a PS4 and gotten an S and/or Scorpio as well. Sucks, but dees tings happen.

No one is ever allowed to be disappointed with Sony? Seems to be open game for MS and Nintendo when they make questionable decisions. The only console that can run 4k Blurays is an Xbox One. To me this is really poor decision making on Sonys part. Am I supposed to wait until 2019 for PS5 for 4k blurays? It's a fair complaint. Slim not having it is one thing, the Pro not having it is really lame.

I think the real point being made is:

1. You sold your PS4. This means that you have no access to PS4 games, of which there are exclusives. And now you intend on keeping it that way because...

1. He clearly values the function of a 4k player over a couple exclusives.

2. same answer as 1, but as you said 100+ movies versus a few games

3. He may not have a PC, maybe he likes playing on console, likes sitting on couch and tv and pc isn't hooked up htere, ect.

4. Atmos. If he had Atmos sound, I doubt he would be even talking about money. The cheapest Atmos is like 1500 and thats bare bones version. THat is a lot to pay for sound.

Xbox Slim does support both common audio types. Unless you are going into insanely costly stuff, I don't think that defeats his arguement.

ha, 50% of 8th gen games are PS exclusive.

Now we know who is dilusional.
