Forums - Sony - Ps4 pro 4k tv question

I have a Vizio M65  C1 4k television I bought this year. Sony was talking alot about HDR which my 4k set unfortunately doesn't support.  Is it worth it for me to consider getting a pro then? Or will it still look much better?  Im site others with 4k tvs without HDR want to know as well

You miss the HDR obviously, but of course your games will look better since they are in 4K.

As a 4K screen owner you are the main target for PS4 Pro. Get it!

Games will perform and look better even on a 1080p tv, obviously you won't get as much out of the pro with a 1080p set, but there'll certainly be benefits.

So yeah HDR is only one aspect, as a 4k tv owner you'll get a lot of benefit from the ps4 Pro.

Well it depends.

Do you have a ps4 already? If so than I would say not really. It isn't running at 4k native but does use some really nice techniques. Along with it not being able to play 4k Blurays. If you already own a ps4, then no.

But if you don't and you want a more stable gameplay experience than ps4's offerings, then maybe. Faster cpu does mean the games that run at near 30 fps or near 60 fps should be at 30 fps or 60 fps.

Watch some content in 1080p and 4K.  Then decide if the difference is worth an extra 100 dollars (or 400 if you already own a PS4).

If you don't have a PS4 and you are getting one either way, imo the price difference is so small that you might as well get the one that will serve your TV the most justice (ie. the PS4Pro). However if you do have a PS4, I'd say no. Unless you have money to burn.

Is HDR 4K exclusive? Is there any chance my 1080p TV supports it?

All PS4s will run HDR beginning next week. As for the 4K, you need a PS4 Pro and 4K Tv.

3DS, Wii, PSP, Vita, PS2, PS3, PS4 & Steam.
