Why the hell didnt Sega do a simular game for phones?
I could easily see a sonic version of this.... it actually fits better imo.

But why not do a 2D side scroller, in the same vane as Super Mario Run? just holding the phone horizontally.
Old school Sonic graphics ect. Sega should do that if they havnt... if they have, they didnt market that thing very well, cuz I havnt heard of it.

Nintendo can say what they want publicly, IMO it's not an "advertisement" when it's making as much money if not more than your traditional game business. Look at Nintendo's stock ... it's exploding ... because stockholders know this app is going to make Nintendo a lot of money, that isn't about NX. |
And again we go back to how NX will end up performing. If NX ends up being Wii levels of success, or close to it, Nintendo will keep doing what it is doing, and investors will be more than happy. If NX is a success, but lets say its half the success of the Wii, it will be the same scenario, though the investors will be more pushy about mobile games. The real problem is if the NX fails, even though I personally dont think Nintendo will go ever full mobile or third party.
And I mean, if NX is revealed and its spetacular, Nintendo stock will go up too, because the ijnvestors will have confidence in Nintendo, in part due to the mobile games, and the results that Pokemon Go had on the main business.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

My tone didn't come across in the text.
It was sarcasm, meaning htat Sega has no creativity these days. And especially ruins Sonic. They just took what worked that someone else thought up and threw a skin on it.
It woudl make perfect sense for Sonic to make a game like this. I mean they basically just have to take their old 2d games and instead of making htem user controlled run, make it auto run like this and bam its done.
I fully expect a Sonic game to do that now that they have seen Nintendo do it.
Has Apple ever paid for app exclusivity before? Even just timed, I can't recall anything like this.

Oh yeah... I think the same. We where actually both trying to say the same thing and spoke past one another.
How hard could it be to have done what Nintendo just did with Super Mario Run.
Why didnt Sega do that, instead of copying other games already on the market.
Nintendo is smart for doing this, its going to make them silly amounts of money.
I cant help but feel like Sega is missing out... for no apparent reason.
| TheLastStarFighter said: It's a fantastic move really. The game probably cost a couple million to make. They could charge $5 for it and it will sell 50-100 million copies, making $250-500 million. Amazing. And it also keeps Mario in the minds of kids everywhere, maintaining brand value. |
Mickey who?
