So this came as a bummer to me but apparently the newly announced Pikmin game isn't the one Miyamoto mentioned in his 2015 interview ! The new Pikmin game is said to be developed by Arzest, the developers of Yoshi's New Island and co-developers of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

Seems like we're up for quite a lot of Pikmin next year !

Doesn't sound too bad. Not gonna set the world on fire, but this new Pikmin should serve nicely as a spin-off and a different take on the series. Pretty cool that Pikmin is now getting the spin-off treatment.

Kills it for me. Developer of bland Nintendo ip platformers loses yoshi to Good-Feel so tries to cheapen the Pikmin franchise instead.

Well Miyamoto did said in 2014. they have lotsa ideas for Pikmin and that Pikmin team always working on new project right after latest is finished. So I definitely expecting at least announcement of Pikmin 4 for next year for NX.

But we were all expecting it to release, not just be announced! Ugh, I really don't have all that much confidence in the NX's initial line-up anymore. Might be going PS4 next year afterall.

Why you dont have confident in NX in NX lineup any more!? You realise that new Pokemon for 3DS is basically only bigger game and game that isn't spinoff, port or small project in last two years, that means all big Nintendo teams are working on big games for NX.

They're still working on 3DS games, that means less NX games. These probably aren't gonna be the only 3DS games, they'll probably have more to announce next year. In terms of specific games I'm hoping for, Soccer in Sports Superstars seems to make Mario Strikers less likely, and now that I think about it, it is really odd to add amiibo to New Leaf a few months before it's successor arrives, unless it isn't coming... I'm just gonna have to be a lot more skeptical now.

If you look at those 3DS games they are almost all spinoffs, ports or small project, all biger teams are working on games are for NX, Zelda, 3D Mario, Retro game, Next Level game, Mario Kart, Splatoon...but you can bet that NX will also have Pokemon too, most likly new Animal Crossing...
