I have not read any answers but the first thing I thought was, "Is this a serious question?"

When games were still being made for PlayStation 5 years after PlayStation 2 was released, were people asking these types of questions? 3DS is successful so Nintendo will continue to support it because there is money to be made there and if the concept of a hybrid does not work, they still have a hand held they can fall back on.

Now, I am not saying the rumors are true; I have never tried to make the claim that they are. However, to say this is what makes you question the rumors is almost laughable. Both PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 still see support even though their newer siblings exist. Supporting an older console does not negate the new console, as seen in recent history.

Sony and Microsoft's history is more relevant than Nintendo's history for predicting what Nintendo will do, you heard it here first folks!

Nice job at not responding to the post actually directed towards you.

it was going absolutely nowhere and i dont care enough about getting the last word in to keep arguing about something that neither of us has proof of.

My first response already highlighted the lack of proof, hence "only time will tell." So you couldn't leave it at that and had to continue, but then you try to bail out without even a cop out? Well whatever, you can atleast prove that you don't care by not responding to me.

You must practice yoga daily to make this stretch possible.

It seems like we can cut Pikmin 4 off the list. I wonder what launch titles will NX have, besides Zelda. LM3 maybe?

that's not pikmin 4, it's a spin off

It was never stated Pikmin 4 was in development, just that "A" Pikmin game was in development and near completion. There was speculation and rumours that it would be a 3DS game, and it looks like that turned out to be accurate.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

what does that mean for the NX? how could the NX be a portable when Nintendo is supporting the 3ds with so many games?

games

1.Ever Oasis - 3DS Swansong from Nintendo

2.Mario sport superstars - Cross Gen? Launching spring 2017

3.Pikmin- A lowkey spin off, not made by main Pikmin team (could also release on NX)

4.Yoshi's wolly word - Late Port/2016

5.Pokemon sun and moon -2016

6.Yokai watch 2 - Old game (non factor in the west) 2016

7.Dragon quest 7,8  and 11- 2 Old Games and  a cross gen game (also coming NX)

8.Monster Hunter Stories- Already out in Japan, not a huge title in the west (also not Nintendo)

9.Tank Troppers- eshop game/2016

10.Super Mario Maker 3DS - Late Port/2016

11.Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse - Not a big seller/2016

12. Mario Party - (2016)

13.Sonic Boom fire and ice releasing this year

and possibly more stuff later.

hmmm, a portable to compete with their other portable? strange. any opinion?

Crossed out all of the titles that are Wii U ports, Not developed/published by Nintendo and/or are launching this year. The NX isn't launching til march 2017.

I just see this a testament to the 3DS doing well. Successful platforms don't suddenly drop dead 6months before their successor arrives.

For 2017, theres nothing that is big enough to really question Nintendo's plans with NX. Not to mention the NX could easily emulate the 3DS/Be backwards compatible. Good end of life line up for 3DS and some more third party games coming from Japan will definitely crop up next year.

Miyamoto specifically stated

"We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present"

Aside of DQ11, which will be on Consoles,  SMTIV Apocalypse seems to be the only interesting and worthwhile game off the list.
