Oh, OK.. I find it weird to see Nintendo working on 2 Pikmin games then.

Even if the NX is a hybrid, it can't be Nintendo's only thing on the market. They need something less expensive on the market for those who are not big enough gamers to buy the (presumably) expensive NX at launch. So, they'll continue producing fairly low budget titles for the 3DS (nothing they did screamed big budget), drop the price, and get some bargain hunting gamers while getting some money out of the fairly large 3DS fanbase.
I'm still not 100% convinced on the Hybrid thing, but this doesn't really change the likelyhood.
Yes, I'm not complaining that the 3DS will continue to get more support
Just that the same can't be said for the Wii U
and we still don't know anything about the NX, if we ignore the rumors

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

but the unified library concept is based on rumors, we don't know anything concrete... now I don't know if I believe the rumors. |
No, it's based on what Nintendo has said, their actions, and, well, common sense, as supporting two systems at once did not work out well for 3DS n Wii U, so naturally you'd think they wouldn't be fool enough to try that again.

Yeah, not really a game I see them dumping the money to make 2 games of...

Just because it didn't work once doesn't mean it's common sense to not do it again... I mean they've always had two systems with seperate software for the past 30 years.
Though I'm not disagreeing I think the NX will be a unified system.

Quite a few of these titles were already confirmed to be for 3DS; out of the list provided in the OP, I believe only Pikmin and Tank Troopers weren't already announced for the system or released on Wii U previously. Chances are, if NX is portable, then we'll be seeing most of the 2017 titles show up there as well.
So, no, it's not a handheld competing with another handheld. It's Nintendo trying to give us at least something to play until the release of a new console instead of pulling a 2012 where there was almost nothing to play until the launch of the Wii U.

3DS sales already showed the system is far from dead.
I don't think the continuing 3DS support should shock anyone. It's pretty normal for any one of the big 3 to continue support for a successful legacy platform 1-2 years after a new system. (PS2, and 360 come to mind). It's important to keep the laggards engaged in some way until they're really ready for a new platform.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Before they didn't have to develop full 3D games on two systems, now they do on top of one being HD. Those conditions haven't changed, so I don't see why it's gonna work now all of a sudden, especially when the NX should be more powerful than the Wii U.
