Forums - Nintendo - After today's direct the Nintendo 3DS is far from dead, so...

what does that mean for the NX? how could the NX be a portable when Nintendo is supporting the 3ds with so many games?

games

1.Ever Oasis

2.Mario sport superstars

3.Pikmin

4.Yoshi's wolly word

5.Pokemon sun and moon

6.Yokai watch 2

7.Dragon quest 7,8  and 11

8.Monster Hunter Stories

9.Tank Troppers

10.Super Mario Maker 3DS

11.Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse

12. Mario Party

13.Sonic Boom fire and ice

and possibly more stuff later.

hmmm, a portable to compete with their other portable? strange. any opinion?

Yeah, I think it would be real strange to see them launch a hybrid with all this content coming out in the next half year.

I have no idea, I honestly can't find any sort of logic to explain their actions this time. This goes against the unified library concept which I thought was the point of the NX.

It seems like we can cut Pikmin 4 off the list. I wonder what launch titles will NX have, besides Zelda. LM3 maybe?

Yeah, I feel like if this whole porting from Wii U isn't made just to get the developers used to making the games for both versions then NX is likely to just be a Home Console. That beeing said I can bet the newly announced Pikming Game (which still hasn't a title) will be ported to NX

but the unified library concept is based on rumors, we don't know anything concrete... now I don't know if I believe the rumors.

Games have a development cycle, they're not going to just move over a game nearing the end of it's development cycle to NX when it's had the 3ds in mind since it's inception, especially considering the power difference between the 3ds and the NX.

Some of those games listed Nintendo couldn't have gotten the developers to move them onto the NX if they wanted to either.

that's not pikmin 4, it's a spin off

It's not that strange if you ask me. The GBA and especially DS had quite a few games coming out in the same year as the launch of their successors. Pokemon Black/White came out only 3 weeks before the 3DS launched.

yeah that sounds reasonable.
