Legendary doesn't seem to be cutting on anything for this title, could actually be the first major videogame movie. It most definately will set a new metacritic record, by any means.

Amazing. Both Guardians of the Galaxy and Gravity Falls had fantastic writing.
I dunno. A real life pokemon movie sounds like it could be all levels of gross and creepy. I don't think it translates well to real life.
Still unsure about the live action though :/

obviously the Pokemon would be CGI. I think it could work if they go with an extremelyyyy stylized and kind of fantastical attitude. You can't just take the real world and implant Pokemon as a sport and make it work (cough look at how shit the live action Dragonball was).
Everything needs to be dramatically different from our real world for this film to work, cities, styles, even the average mannerisms. You watch Pokemon the cartoon for 5 minutes and obviously you'll notice people act a bit more bizarre and tend to yell catchphrases and things. the goofiness needs to remain
I think the worst thing they could do is take Pokemon TOO seriously. It has to be fun and zany
I actually talked with friend of mind about how you could do a Pokémon movie and make sense of all the tournaments and badges and why trainers battle for a more engaging plot than "for sport." I honestly think this could work. It could also be really crap.

The thing is, what will the movie be like? Silly like the first 3 generations, or have a more serious tone from gens 5 and 6?
Either way, they would be sticking to the true core of pokemon. Pokemon BW actually had a decent plot with character development- it can easily be made into a movie. However, I'm sure the plot will be unique.
Regardless, I'd really like to see Team Rocket, Magma/Aqua or team plasma as the main villains.
