Forums - Gaming - Sean Murray back at it again...

People really need to grow up. He didn't lie, he even acknowledged that he said dlc would be free, but that was naive of him. The hate he's getting, and the amount of it that is utter nonsense is insane.

Also, why on earth would anybody buy a pc game on launch in this day and age? I'm not saying this to excuse broken PC games, but they're broken all the time. Why wouldn't you wait until you knew it was going to work?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

see, I think that's bs, I think the game was a broken mess released for pc and now they are patching the hell out of it, I can't support that bullshit and I don't understand how gamers could be so passive when a developer does crap like that. And then when gamers say the truth, gamers are being haters "attacking the poor developers" can't wait for the next broken game!

When did you bought the game ? How broken was it for you?

Friday after the first patch I knew about the problems but I wanted to see if for myself. The thing is that I don't hate the game, I hate the whole situation cause that happens a lot. The gameplay mechanics and all that stuff, I stay quiet cause not everybody enjoy the same thing, so I can't say this game is crap because of this or that. But when the games are broken then I could be a little harsh, AC was my favorite new franchise and now I think that Ubisoft and the franchise are crap (although i love syndicate) Performance is too important for me, a game could be bland or whatever but if the level of optimization fair then it's all good.

I avoided the PC release based on how developers have handled their ports recently.

I have a nice pc but if a game is on console and pc it seems like the pc port seems to have issues too often.

Which is strange considering a lot of games are developed on PC right?

I have been having no problems at all with the PC versio. In this video here you can see my FPS in the top right. My specs are only an i5-2500K@3.3Ghz, AMD R9-280x, and 8GB Ram. Also add an extra 10FPS to the framerate to get my real framerate when im not recording.

And also not many big name games release on PC with big problems. Do you mind giving me a list?.

Quantum Break was reported with issues as well as batman and unity (although unity had problems on consoles as well).

Lately I've been buying games on console.

Except I did just buy skyrim, morrowind and oblivion on steam sale last week.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

Pretty much this. God forbid somebody is dynamic and actually changes perspective.

Cause most games aren't broken? No Man's Sky is the exception... Not the Norm... Yea once a while, you get a game that is broken but PC also has an answer to those which is a refund system... And PC games generally get better over time with stuff like mods so getting it on release with the pre-order bonus stuff isn't exactly a bad thing.

Where does this nonsense notion that PC ports are always broken comes? lol

The vast majority of multiplatform PC releases are highly superior versions of their consoles counterparts, then the rest is divided between those which run equally no matter how better your pc is and, in some suspicious cases, those which work worse or they are just a simple mess, but that's the exception, not the norm.

It's pretty sad.  Every single developer has turned to the dark side of DLC, even some more new promising developers like CD Prjekt Red once said that all DLC for TW3 would be free.   High quality or not, an expansion is still paid DLC. Even Nintendo and Naughty Dog have some pretty shameless DLC options.

You wanted 50 hours or more of new content that they worked for like one year for free ? i hope you are joking dude...

"CD Prjekt Red once said that all DLC for TW3 would be free."

Show me where they said that. There must be a video or a quote somewhere.

Here's something they said regarding it in 2014 before the expansions and stuff I'm guessing came to fruition: http://www.gameplanet.co.nz/pc/news/g545bd85d7aea2/All-Witcher-3-DLC-will-be-free/

Here's when they clean it up a little mentioning only something really big would have a price tag: http://www.gameplanet.co.nz/pc/news/g545bd85d7aea2/All-Witcher-3-DLC-will-be-free/

Not contesting the high quality and value of their DLC expansions.  But regardless it's still DLC.  They're still an up and coming developer in the scheme of it all despite being founded in 1996 (according to Wiki), so we'll have to see how long they will stay hungry for positive admiration.  They have good intentions I'm sure but how long can developers really last before they're forced to do the nasty from the higher ups?

Listen, I commend every game developer just BEING a game developer.  It's insane how much work they put in and it's stupid how easily fans can just disregard their work with completely unfair and even useless comparisons to other developers.

But either way, we're still on the other side of that fence as consumers. Regarding DLC  "Choose what you want to pay for and leave the rest" is the best spin I can put on it as a positive from a gamer's POV.  I'd honestly never want to pay for DLC again, regardless of the value.  Just make a new game or something with all of your ideas or add-ons or cosmetics.  Late ideas coming to the table that you want to put in?  Make a new game by combining more ideas and then streaming them together as a fully fledged game.  *Make a standard value that's understandable without notions of stuff being left out, or as left out as they could be*

There's no way of knowing exactly how much of a game could be left out before being put back in as an extra charge.  Yeah, we'll hear good intended developers put on a happy face to do the bidding of their Corporate Executives, but that's how the higher ups do it.  They'll put somebody the people trust out there to try and spin it and calm the masses.

Lube Me Up

Well, the game is out. Not much point in him continuing to lie. There aren't any more day one sales to exploit.

And it's hilarious that were to the point now where instead of crapping on a developer who mislead and lied about features in his game multiple times and as recently as like a day before release, were blaming gamers instead. "why would you buy PC day one???" damn, the latest Jimquisition is dead on, lol.

Nope, if you decide to drive over a bridge then you realise the bridge has collapsed, you die!
