So 360 degrees camera is thing that makes some game 3D or proper 3D game!? Sry, but offcourse thats not true at all.

Well it makes the gameplay different...and I prefer the gameplay of the older 3D Mario games because of that. It might not be the official explanation for it, but now you know why some of us prefer it.

Gameplay is totally different thing, but for instance gameplay between Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine is totally different, same goes for gameplay difference between Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy, and actually if you look gameplay, gameplay and levels between Mario Galaxy and SM3DW are way more similar compared to Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy.

So yes, SM3DW gameplay is different to other 3D Mario games, but same goes for evre other 3D Mario game, and yes SM3DW is more NSMB in 3D but that doesnt make it less 3D Mario game because there is no real definition of 3D Mario games, they are all very different each from another.

IMO SM3DW doesnt have epicknes of Mario Galaxy but that doesnt make bad or less 3D Mario game, beacuse same we could say for Mario Sunshine.

In any case, dont expect that next 3D Mario for NX be similar to SM3DW, and Nintendo already stated it will something completly new and new kind of Mario, I personaly hope for something more like Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine and less something like Mario Galaxy (I think two Mario Galaxy games is enough).

Thats because you cant see the difference between SM3DW and the older console Mario 3D games. You just say "They are all in 3D. End of story."

I already gave you argument for that one, do you see difference between Mario Galaxy and Mario Sunshine/Mario 64, Mario Galaxy is way too linear compared to them, and buy your point we can say Mario Galaxy is not proper 3D Mario game beacuse its too linear compared to them.

Come on.... 64/Sunshine/Galaxy and 3d Land/World are clearly two very different distinct game series. No you can't say that Galaxy is not part of the 64/Sunshine series. Let's compare both series.

64/Sunshine/Galaxy

Open Hub area outside of the levels.

Bigger emphasis on Story.

Levels have multiple courses. (stars/shines)

At most points you have access to multiple courses, non-linear level/course progression.

The name of each course is a clue on what the course will be about and how to get the star/shine.

Levels are typically open with movement in all directions.

Levels end upon finding and obtaining the star/shine.

3D Land/World

Super Mario Brothers Esque Map outside of levels.

Lesser emphasis on story.

Levels do not have multiple courses.

Linear Level progression, completing a level directly unlocks the next level.

Levels are named like a typical Mario Brothers game and split into worlds. (2-1, 3-2) etc.

Castle at the end of each world to advance to next world. (again like mario brothers)

Generally the levels are still pretty open, but you are funnelled into essentially 2D sections fairly often.

Levels end upon reaching the Finish Flag.

The 3D Land/World is essentially just Mario Bros with a different perspective and a bit of depth in another dimension added to the levels, the level design is similair, the naming is similair, the objects are similair, the map, the toad houses... it is basically just 3d mario bros.

They are clearly two different series.

Also in discussions like this would people please note that when someone says 3d World isn't a 3d mario game, they mean it's not part of the 64/sunshine/galaxy series, not that it isnt a game that features 3 dimensions.... tired of seeing pointless arguments that are just "It is 3d mario cause it has 3 dimensions!" When that is clearly not what the other person is saying.

Of course the older 3D Mario games arent identical, but they have the thing we call "proper 3D". A game wont be great just by having it. Many people love Mario 64, but hate Sunshine for instance.

Also I always though Miyamoto was talking about the 2D Mario games when he talked about the change. Since he said after SM3DW that he has given the 3D Mario games to that team.

But point is you cant call them "proper 3D" beacuse they are way too difrent.

They have separate quotes about 2D Mario and 3D Mario, for 2D they said they changing formula, and for 3D Mario they talked how evre 3D Mario is always different and how new one will also be different too.

I think this is a problem, some people will just say SM3DW is not 3D Mario or proper 3D Mario, but reality is that is 3D Mario game even basically is 3D Mario Bros.

They are different in some forms, but they all give you full control of the camera. Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World are very different too, but they are both in 2D and the camera works in the same way.

Again full control of camera does not its not whats make 3D game or proper 3D game. Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy are totally different each from other, I really can't see how you can compare that with Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World that are way to similar in comparision with them.

Well you have been told several times that thats what people mean when they say proper 3D Mario. If you have a better way of saying it, then Im all ears.

"Fixed camera 3D Mario game", or "3D Mario that is basicly 3D Mario Bros"!? :)

Fair enough. I prefer 3D Mario that is basically 3D Mario Bros.
