Thanks. I've been skipping between Os myself and halving reasonable luck. Gs are pretty good too.

Aren't Gs the standard yellow ones together with F?
Red is class M and K.
Green is class E which I never heard of before.
Blue white is class B and O.
So we're missing class A stars which might be what E was supposed to be. And the lower end classes L, T, Y, not really suitable for life, too cold. Class O stars aren't really suitable either as they only live 10 million years. And then there's all the variants stars evolve into of course.
Hopping between O stars makes it easier to pick a path, less to choose from :)

Perhaps I'm getting confused there then. I thought It was Gs but I do recall going to somee Bs.

Are you sure it was a different species, not the "is a member of an already discovered species" message. The other gender or young sometimes show up as red dots as well. I was sure I had found them all too on one planet yet still an entry with ??????? |
You are right! They were the same species. No glitch then.
Anyway I'm going for the extreme planet trophy, I'm on a good planet with a lot of gravity balls and found a trading post. Sentinels are lunatics and shoot on site but I just run and jet pack around grabbing the gravity balls and leave them behind. I should make a bit of money while doing it this trophy and upgrade my ship to a bigger one.

I need a new ship, period. I still have my starter ship, being about 50 hours played. Hvae my exosuit fully upgraded for slots, though. I guess if i'd start going through the "story", i'd probably get a better ship faster. All of the crashed ones that i find, are less than my current slots. Same with Multi tool.

That's what I'm going for next. I've got a radiactive planet called Ooek and an icy planet called Ooitscold. I'm going to stack up on titanium and take my pick. I just left another solar system with a planet called Thisle-doofa-now but decided to take one more jump.

That seems more like bad luck. Crashed ships should come with more slots too, should have nothing to do with story. The 'story' doesn't offer you any better ships, but you can buy them at the space station if you got the cash. It doesn't take much to get an improvement on the starter ship, maybe that gets the ball rolling on the crashed ships. (It can take a while too on the space station for a better ship to turn up, just hang around. Better faction with pilot helps with prices)
You do get plenty chances to upgrade the multi-tool at the space anomalies that pop up on the atlas path. That should happen normally too, but I've had streaks of getting 8 smaller ones offered in a row as well.

In that 8 hour extreme challenge, never found the last species on that planet. Make that 9 actually, I had to start over when it reset at 27 but I spend most of the recovery time in a shelter through remote play with upgraded life support system that last hours. I didn't want to walk around for another 8. |
If you don't mind going the cheap route, find planets with no life and turn those in. Zero fauna planets count as finding all life when turned in.

How much cash you got saved up? You can jump from 16/17 to like 24 by buying from other NPCs at the station for like 2.5million. If you have even more cash you can get another upgrade to like 30 or so for 20million if I remember correctly (might be 40million).
