If I had know better, I would NOT have sold my Nintendo Entertainment System (NES,) and I would not have traded my Atari 2600 and games for Captain America comic books.
I was a late bloomer when it comes to the NES. I first bought one used in college back in the early 1990s. Loved it, but I swore off game right after I got married. It was a personal choice. I had the console, two Hudson Soft turbo controllers, the orginal light gun, and 13 games. I sold it for a mear $50. Mistake mistake mistake mistake.
And then there was my Atari 2600 and a variety for controllers. With that was 100+ cartridges which was a joint collection between my collection, my wife's collection, and the ones I'd bought from a variety of pawnshop. I had traded it with some guy over the internet for $100 worth of Silver Age Captain America comics. Unfortunately, the value was less than what he had stated because of the comics' conditions. And as cool as it is to have them, I'd rather have what was my games over the comics.
If I had kept what I had gotten rid of, it would have almost painted my entire gaming history.
