I dont really see the need for a sequel, just a updated port on NX with more updates to come would suffice.

I could actually bet that would recieve, but as it seems that they are having difficults with porting the user made levels over and as the replacment of 3DS is coming soon, they simply let the idea pass.

Donkey Kong Maker or a Yoshi's Island/Yarn maker would do, Mario Maker can simply be ported over with added features.
I think Nintendo will port this one on NX therefore there was no need to release it on 3DS too.

Yeah I dont mind that as well. The only reason why I didn't buy the game is because there was no Multiplayer. Playing 2D mario bymyself is quite boring.
