ehrm I disagree entirely.
I was pretty excited for Batman v Superman originally but then the reviews (rightfully so) hammered it (I've watched enough clips online to know they were somewhat spot on).
Suicide Squad is probably my most anticipated film for this summer and while I probably WILL still see it, the reviews being this poor certainly are something that makes me second guess doing so.
I will point out that a lot of people originally excited for this film I think were hoping for a DARK 'superhero' movie with an R rating. The trailers give off that vibe. So I can't help but wonder if things were cut and left on the drawing board to get the PG-13.
maybe the 13 rating was done a long time ago, but I hadn't noticed.
I would argue though that ratings are possibly MORE important for people excited for a film these days when trailers can be so misleading. I mean you just can't trust a good trailer and your own hype sometimes. the studios are sneaky

For me it was the opposite with BvS, heard it was trash and when I saw it I was surprised because sure it has flaws but it wasn't nearly as bad as some reviews said.
Perhaps you are right about the rating, after all when the R-rated extended version of BvS was released a lot of people changed their mind about the movie. Maybe suicide squad will have a R-rated extended version as well.
