And as for the conversation around FF being more interesting than the game itself...okay, so why were Rol and I pretty much the only ones who ever used the discussion feature on there for anything? You coulda chimed in anytime ![]() Also you might want to acquaint yourself with the definition of the word interesting, when you keep saying your team not being where it "should" be isn't interesting to you. If the best scoring team was always first in everything, that would not be interesting. If the most seemingly mediocre lineups were always mediocre, that would not be interesting. The expected is not interesting. Really what you're saying is you're not interested in things not going the best possible way for you, given your estimation of the talents you have to work with. That's not really how life works, and it's certainly not how something as luck based as FF works lol |
Not quitting, just not paying much mind to it. It is what it is. It's a lesson to find some more dependable players in the next one. The best scoring team is by far the winner though, at 11-2. Noble has 1367 points scored (#1), and 1138 scored against, the least in the league, which is an effective combo to be sure.
I could end up losing in the first round of the playoffs, so that shiny 11-2 record could end up being meaningless when all is said and done xD

Depends on what Eli and O line shows up to the game. If he gets a bunch of pressure and makes errand throws which leads to interceptions then the game will be a blowout. I swear the Giants are probably the worst 8-4 team ever. They are way too inconsistent.

The Bills have a good defense. Their passing game sucks, and gives up the ball quickly. So the other team has lots of opportunities to score. |
Good defense against yardage but not against points. Chiefs are the opposite, so they win.

Wouldnt it be nice if the only 2 loses Dallas gets all season are from the Giants

That's part of my point though. It's difficult to be a good defense against points when you start on defense with such bad field position. Let's take the Oakland game, starting with Buffalo up 24-16 late in the 3rd quarter. - Buffalo goes three and out, then does a bad punt. Oakland takes the field on Buffalo's 38, then scores. 24-23 - Buffalo goes three and out again, and follows with another weak punt. Oakland takes the field on their 41, then scores. 30-24 Oakland. - Buffalo goes three and out AGAIN, and punts it to the Oakland 25. The Buffalo defense stops them and Oakland punts. - Buffalo throws an interception on the very next play. Oakland takes the field on the Buffalo 16. They eventually score. 38-24 Oakland. - Buffalo offense takes the field. They have a good drive, then they fumble it in Oakland's end. Oakland Offense takes the field on their own 23. - Oakland runs the clock down, then punts with 18 seconds left. The numbers are stacked against you when you start with the ball in your own end. The New England defense, one of the best this year, had a great game last week, allowing only 10 points. But they never started in their own end. Most of the LA drives started on their own 25 yard line, or worse. The Bills have an above average defense. If it's not top 10, it's close. They have the league's best rushing game. They have the league's worst passing game. That combined with lower tier punting are the areas that they need to work on first. As for the Chiefs, they're a solid team all around. They have a good defense, but on offense they have the best Tight End in the league this year and a solid Wide Receiver who is also the league's best punt returner. |
Right but what it means is that the Chiefs defense often make important stops despite being one of the bottom teams in allowed yardage. They might let u run up the field 90 yards everytime, but then they magically get good in the redzone and make you field goal. Bills on the other hand don't stop them in the Redzone. (I assume)
If the opposing team gets good field position everytime, then the Bills will allow less yards and look good in that stat but allow more points and look bad in that stat. In the end Points> Yards to win games, so the defenses of the Bills or Chiefs may or may not be underestimated.
Rol, your speadsheet notes are pretty good I must admit :)

I agree with most of the points, but I'd really hesitate to say New England's defense is one of the best this year. Extremely weak pass rush and some real question marks at corner past Malcolm Butler, especially with Eric Rowe (who was already pretty shaky) out. The Pats may have the 2nd fewest points allowed and 9th fewest yards given up in the league, but they've only played two teams with above average scoring offenses; Buffalo (whose offense is already extremely shaky as you've pointed out), and Pittsburgh (Roethlisberger missed that game).
Defense will definitely be tested by Baltimore on Monday; the Ravens always seem to bring their A game against the Patriots (at least on offense).

*sigh* Julio Jones has a turf toe injury and those usually limit WR's. Wonder if I should bench him.....
