i want to know, if the cartridges rumor is true, how much money could Nintendo save per console?

I dunno, maybe $15-$20 per system? Disc drives are dirt cheap these days, the main savings would be space savings, the system could be tiny, perfect for a quasi-portable.

Terrible hardware, screens worse than PSP from 2004.

For me it's, meh. I don't really have time to play most handheld games. Hell, i haven't turned on my 3DS XL, in probably about 7 or 8 months. I'm all about whatever it'll do for home use. Can't care less what it'll do outside of that.

The rumor doesn't change anything for me. As long as it has Nintendo games I'll get eventually.
I'm hugely dissapointed and don't even know what to say right now honestly.
The idea itself is something that I need to see for myself first before I can get an opinion on it. Having a home console that you can basically use as a portable? Sounds pretty cool actually and is beneficial for Nintendo as they now only have to focus on developing games for one device and can get them out faster. But I don't buy handhelds, i've only ever bought home consoles. So like I said i'll have to see them show how it works first.
The power of the console is what dissapoints me the most. LESS powerful than a PS4? I thought Nintendo would have learned from the Wii U that power is important, and that if they want third party support they need to provide that power. Especially with the Neo and Scorpio coming out probably a year from now, this thing will already be underpowered as fuck right at launch compared to the CURRENT consoles. AND a different architecture, so more work will be required to even get ports on the damn thing from developers that might try? I thought base level PS4 was the LEAST Nintendo would do and hopefully make it more powerful from there but apparently not.
I know as of right now this is still a rumour and it could be completely false, especially considering Iwata did say a while ago that it would NOT be a hybrid, but if it's true then I hope Nintendo finds success with this thing, but I won't be buying one.
I love Handhelds, so this should be right up my alley. I'll probably buy it, but at this point I need to know more about it.
