Funny that you deleted the "duh!" at the end of my sentence in a feeble attempt to make me somehow look silly and making my sentence look "serious".And dont worry, I dont feel or look dumb.Actually I think Im providing quite the entertainment for me and people who are reading these comments in where you try to get under my skin and fails miserably!

Not to mention that you answer my arguments with insults.Way to fail miserably in an argument lol.

At least he/she/it responded to you to provide the entertainment.  I didn't even get that from them!

Oh thats simply rude!He owns you a sincere apology.I think saying "Nintendo is The One who shall rule them all" must be enough.Or do you have a better idea?

So many people mistake Nintendo's decision to make mobile games as weakening their core business. In reality it will have the opposite effect. And once that effect can be fully seen, threads like this are hopefully a thing of the past.

If Nintendo doesn't mess up NX like the 3DS and Wii U, you should get used to the idea that Nintendo will be #1 again.

Lmao.

How about winning gen 1, 3, 4, and 7 in home console sales?  If you add 3DS + Wii U together they are on top this gen as well.  Basically, they are always on top if you add home console and hand held sales together.

Winning gen 1, 3, 4, and 7 in home console sales

Winning gen 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 in hand held sales (no one to my knowledge had a gen 3 hand held unless you want to count the Tiger Electronics hand helds which wiki doesn't, Nintendo has never lost in sales for any hand held generation)

Yep, they aren't used to winning.  You might want to have some facts next time.

Welp, can't argue with that, although I don't think we mean "winning" in the same way, but whatever.

You actually can argue with it.  I was wrong with stating they are always on top in sales if you include home and hand held sales considering GC + GBA sales don't match PS2 sales and N64 + GBC sales don't match PS1 sales (I'll edit my post from always to almost always).

I'm sorry I don't know exactly what you meant by winning but I took it to be talking about sales considering that is what most people usually refer to as winning on this site.  Sure you could argue that their home console sales have been in decline since NES days and that the Wii was just a fluke in an overall downward trend.  However, they just need to catch lightning in a bottle again like they did with the Wii and they could have another hit success.  They have plenty of cash reserves to not turn into a Sega anytime in the foreseeable future.  That being said everything isn't all hunky dory at Nintendo and this gen has raised some serious issues that they will continue to face.  My money would go on Nintendo though even with them being backed into a corner.

I might have sounded like an ass when responding but that is mainly because I usually am.  Next time I'll be first to ask the person what they exactly they mean before going on a "rant".

Accept this "IS" what your asking them to do...

But Sega lost it in the first place. Ninteno may not need to loose there console market is this scenario.

If they went multiplat then the main reason to buy a Nintendo system would vanish.

Not a bad idea. Maybe some simplified versions of famous series, like the mini-games in Nintendo Land. Nintendo could make money from the apps and I imagine a lot of iPhone users might pony up for the main event, so to speak, on NX.

They said that they had interest in making joypads for mobile devices. They could create games more oriented to physical controls on mobile. Most mobile joypads are either overpriced or underwhelming, they could score big with a console-quality controller plus their own games.

That's a fair point of view, but I think it much more likely that Nintendo will continue to make great software if it has total control over the hardware side of things.

I think they could have made much better games in the last 10 years on a Xbox 360 and a PS4 than on a Wii and a WiiU. But I'm an old Nintendo fan, especially from the N64/GC era. So I don't have much love for the Wii/WiiU, even if I own both of them (I still own all the home consoles made by Nintendo + GBASP and micro and a DSlite)

What makes you think that, out of curiosity?

Why is no one accept the fact that Nintendo's Image is ruined after the "Causal wii" and the Wii U which the controllr looks worse than a 50 quid tablet for childern. People see it as the kiddy option and/or casual. They have the portables are their best asset, but even that will start dying as (Which it slowly is) because of the smart phone revolution. Only Nintendo's hardcore fans and kids/parents of kids and Japanese folk will grab the NX. And if The NX fails their done with consoles. They need to forge some relationship with the other big 3 or team up with apple, Google or facebook before the NX is released as a safety cushion. Ya'll seem like ya'll would rather Nintendo to die instead of going multiplat. If I can't have you can't either

How did the "casual" Wii ruin Nintendo's image? It opened up the beauty and joy of video games for millions who were either lapsed players or brand new ones. Maybe its success offended self-described hardcore players, who are historically inflexible and parochial. And maybe that's what all this is about, in this thread and elsewhere. Some folks are so threatened and insecure about the success of a modestly-powered system with a silly motion controller that blew past the "hardcore" competition. I guess the WiiU's relative failure was celebrated as Nintendo's comeuppance for daring to disrupt the industry and invite in so many filthy casuals, kids, parents, and grandparents. I guess for some gaming is just an exclusive club full of the hardest of hardcore who wouldn't be caught dead waggling a plastic remote at a bunch of cartoon mascots.
