i don't know how serious can this be taken, i know, there will be releasing some great games in the next months (tales of, persona, ffxv, the last guardian, world of final fantasy, gran turismo), but in japan home consoles aren't that popular anymore, so why are they thinking that the ps4 could go out of stock? Trick by sony, to make a run on the hardware?

It's not Sony saying that it might go out of stock, it's the retailers....

That's true, but saying that means they got some messages from sony that they couldn't maybe deliver enough hardware

Well, if home consoles aren't that popular anymore it also means that retailer have lower stocks so that they don't have enough if sales increase dramatically for some weeks.

Just imagine XBO would get a game for which 30000 people would buy an XBO for in Japan. I guess all stores together in Japan have maybe only 1k consoles right now lol.

It could be that after all this time retailers over there have a solid idea of how many PS4s they get every month. They also have probably noticed a rise in demand and are anticipating even more interest looking at the coming months of software releases in the region.

They may have asked Sony if they plan on increasing supply and Sony may have told them no.

It could also mean that there are new skus coming, and more than likely those new skus may be more expensive than the current PS4.

That is a pretty big sentence.

It means that PS4 are going to be hard to find in Japan.At least thats what the retailers(the shops that sells videogames) are saying.Its not an official statement by Sony.
