It could be that after all this time retailers over there have a solid idea of how many PS4s they get every month. They also have probably noticed a rise in demand and are anticipating even more interest looking at the coming months of software releases in the region.
They may have asked Sony if they plan on increasing supply and Sony may have told them no.
It could also mean that there are new skus coming, and more than likely those new skus may be more expensive than the current PS4.
