Forums - Gaming - At this point, is Activision worse then Electronic Arts?

Which Company is currently Worse

Electronic Arts 39 52.00%

Activision 36 48.00%

Total:75

Please Vote, here is my reason for chosing Activision over Electronic arts, please share your own view!

For many years gamers their hate has gone towards Electronic Arts. At some point I do believe I shared these feelings myself, they have ruind good studio's (bullfrog, westwood, maxis to name a few) and they have ripped people off with bad- DLC and yearly sport franchises with just name changes (like Fifa on Wii or Psvita).

However, Activision, once a great company has also made a lot of missteps. Obviously they are behind the milk-train that is Call of Duty, but arguably Electronic Arts is doing something simulair with Battlefield, however, Activision has been releasing a streak of horrible games and have ignored fans in their requests of what they would like next, something EA (in my opinion) has gotten a bit better at.

Recently the 0.8 user scored Ghostbusters might be the biggest indication of this shifting point, also, the Turtles game is on almost the same "horrible" game rating. Call of Duty has been getting hate for ignoring fan requests and they are bundling exclusive remakes of their beloved game behind a "only if you buy the most expensive version" paywall. With games like Tony Hawk and many many remasters, Activision is on a huge decline I believe.

Obviously EA is not "home free" but they have released a mirrors edge, unraveled, started listening to people on what they would like from a new battlefield and generally seem to be on a rise after reaching rock bottum some years ago.

What do you think?

I still think EA is worse. Sure Activision makes some bad games here and there, but their games usually work at least. EAs history is just filled with different ways to fuck over the gamers.

It's kind of like choosing between death by brain parasite and death by sonic diarrhea.

It's a terrible world that doesn't let you have both death by brain parasite and sonic diarrhea.

Activision has Blizzard so no. EA is still significantly worse.

Activision has been worse for many years. Pretty much ever since they merged with vivendi to become the biggest publisher. Something about being the top dog makes these companies evil... EA on the other hand has been doing pretty good, especially after they acquired Bioware!

Both still publish and develop good games. Both CoD and BF look really good this year.

Activision still makes awful licensed games, though. I guess there is still money in quick and cheap tie-ins. I'd hoped those would go away with the success of Batman and others but I guess not.

Overall, I think EA publishes more high quality content.

I only care about the games and honestly EA keeps releasing some decent to great games from time to time, unlike Activision

Activision are bigger assholes than EA. And it doesn't help that (a) EA have more worthwhile IPs, and (b) the good IPs that Activision does have are almost always ruined by them.

They like to knock each other off the top of the totem pole in terms of being the worst, but they always take back their position a while later.

bet: lost

EA used to be bad, but they really tried to clean up their reputation in the latter years of the 7th gen, though they still aren't perfect. Activision hasn't changed at all in decades. Nowadays every publisher except Sony "milks" their franchises. That's not unique to either of these two.
