So, as any true Metroid fan should know, for some years a few people (mainly the user DRM64) have been working on a full remake of the original Metroid II: Return of Samus. This project has new graphics that matches the ones on Metroid Zero Mission, new and improved gameplay mechanics, new areas, new bosses, more and remastered music... And if you have played any of the demos they have been posting through these years, you know this is probably one of the best fan projects ever created. The thing is, this project has been on progress for a looooong time.
Well, the wait is finally over. If everything goes as expected, AM2R will be completed August 6th 2016, the day that the original Metroid will celebrate its 30th aniversary. That's right folks. In just three weeks, we will probably get the first genuine new Metroid title that deserves that name in at least 6 years (unless you didn't like Other M, in which case I pity you, 9 years). I couldn't be more excited about this!
